Project Proposal
Name of Project : 2nd Youth Camp Purpose of the project: -To build the leadership of the young generations -To cultivate and develop positive mental attitude to cope with the challenging work in future. -To develop team work with the aim of building up self confidence and team spirit. -To enhance JCI knowledge among the Junior JCI members. -To enhance communication skills Estimated number of members and their functions: - 100 participants - 10 organising committees

Potential benefits to the chapter: - Members are giving the opportunity to host and plan for a training & community project which can enhance their planning skills and to gain management experience. - That to give a platform for the JCI trainers to present and enhance their training skills. - That to prepare for future recruitment from Junior JCI. - That the project has aligned with JCI Mission which is to create development opportunities to empower young leaders in JCI to create positive changes - That to create positive image in public and among merchants/sponsors. Potential benefits to the community: - That to give teenagers an opportunity to attend a good training camp that organized by worldwide

recognized organization, Junior Chamber International which they themselves might not have chance to attend the similar trainings in their school. - The training camp which has different modules enables the participants to build up their level of confident of participants in handling challenges through the activities. - That the training modules will emphasis the important skills such as interactive skills, leadership skills, teamwork and the need to be versatile and flexible to the participants. - To portray a positive public image of JCI towards community. General comments concerning the proposed project: -The major concern of this project will be the participants safety issue - : Since all participants are aged between 16 to17, parents might first consider the safety of their children when allow their children for attending outdoor activities. Hence, the organizing committees will execute following action taken to ensure safety of participants: 1) All participants will be covered by Personal Accident insurance 2) St John and Rela officers will be on duty for the safety and prevention of accident. Findings of preliminary research or feasibility study: 1)Appropriate age range for prospective participants: Students age around 16-17 are looking forward a camp which can develop their leadership and communication skills. 2) Good support from Usains, USM: renting the foyer for free in order to support the youth camp to be conducted successfully. 3)Anticipate good response from the school: There are three schools have confirmed to participate in this activities, which are Chung Hwa High School, Union High School and Sacred Heart High School. The organizing committees are still approaching 3 other schools: Chung Ling High School, Penang Chinese Girls Private High School and Jit Sin Private High School. Besides that, we also would like to open to all secondary school in Penang. Approved by the chapter Board of Directors on: 20th December 2010 Chapter Presidents signature:

Major Objectives
Project proposed: 2nd Youth Camp Estimated project commencement date: 20th April 2011 Estimated project completion date: July 2011 List the project's major objectives and anticipated results: MAJOR OBJECTIVES -To build the leadership of the young generations - To identify future leaders in schools.

-To cultivate and develop positive mental attitude - All participants will be coping all tasks with to cope with the challenging work task in future. positive attitude and creative problems solutions.

-To develop team work with the aim of building self confidence and team spirit.

- All participants to work together as a team in problem solving.

-To enhance JCI knowledge among the Junior JCI members.

- Better understanding JCI will help to recruit a few new Junior JCI members.

-To enhance communication skills

- Participants will be solving their conflicts with effective communication skills.

Publicity and promotion: -Posters will be printed and distributed to all participated schools. -Email and SMS sent out by organizing chairperson and secretary to liaise with the person in charge from the participated schools. - Co-operation from the Junior JCI to invite members/non members to sign up for the youth camp. -There will be press release and conference to promote this meaningful activity to the public community.
