Strand Dies
Stand dies for plastic pelletizing are designed to provide uniform pellets of resin, following it's extrusion through a strand die face. Whether virgin or reclaimed material, once the resin is extruded and cooled, the strands are cut at a very high speed, yielding pellets of a prescribed size for optimal processing in manufacturing environments. Our strand dies for compounding and pelletizing are manufactured with high-quality chrome plated steel die bodies, stainless steel plates, and manifold designs for specific polymers and melt flow behavior. Each strand die is a custom product that comes with a wide range of options, like low-wear strand plates, explosion-proof and high temperature resistant wiring, liquid control, and manifold designs that incorporate restrictor bars????
SHEET DIES
Flexible dies without restrictor bars are used for product thickness ranges below 2mm (0.080). Flexible dies with restrictor bars are used when product thicknesses range both below and above 2mm (0.080), or for highly degradable materials. When processors require larger lip gaps, a common choice is a die with a sliding upper lip. A sliding upper lip provides travel of up to 12.5mm (0.500). This design is frequently used when product thickness is always above 2mm (0.080), and materials are thermally stable. lip
adjusting system and deckle system are commonly included. Gain the convenience of rapid online lip gap control with lip adjusting system. Prevent costly down-time for width changes with deckle system. For dedicated coextrusion applications with relatively expensive cap layers, the multi-manifold approach is commonly preferred over a single manifold die with a feedblock.
Deckle Technology
Designed for adjusting width during operation, this heavy-duty, external deckling system accommodates high extrusion rates. A single-point adjustment at each end of the die actuates a wedge clamping device for seal engagement. The deckle assembly swings out to permit easy access to seals at the die ends. The deckle system is available for retrofitting on older dies. Lip Adjustment Techology A mechanism that allows for single-point adjustment, this system makes it possible to adjust the position of the movable lower lip of the die, varying sheet thickness within a range of 0.250 in. (6.4 mm) without taking the die off line. A die equipped with a lip adjustment system on its lower lip operates on the principle of separate lip responsibilities. An additional 0.100 in. (2.5 mm) is available with the top lip of the die, which controls the transverse gauge profile. Together, these capabilities increase the range of gap adjustment from the previous maximum of 0.100 in. (2.5 mm) to 0.300 in. (7.6 mm). The adjusting device used by the extrusion-line operator to activate the lip adjustment system is equipped with a micrometer-like gauge which precisely indicates gap settings.
Coextrusion technology has evolved dramatically in the last few years. Now, you can achieve the highest coextrusion performance possible by coupling the streamlined tunability of coextrusion feedblock technology with channel geometry in the die. With the broad operating windows and versatility provided by this single-source marriage of die and feedblock expertise, your line will be consistently more productive.
Co-extrusion blocks Exchangeable, streamlined flow inserts are the heart of the Ultraflow design and combine polymer streams in an optimal parallel path manner. Plus, the inserts are readily exchangeable without having to disassemble the feedblock from the line if your coextrusion requirements change. Exchangeable, streamlined flow inserts are the heart of the Ultraflow design and combine polymer streams in an optimal parallel
---Ultraflow IV feedblocks are more compact and more streamlined than Ultraflow I, yet provide the same convenient access to the flow inserts via cover plates. Exchangeable flow inserts are designed like miniature dies for uniform flow distribution before the point of combination. The compact feedblock design makes them ideal for use with Layer Multiplication Technology to help minimize the required space and reduce polymer inventory time. ----This is a highly versatile line of coextrusion feedblocks made with dependable Selector Spool technology and streamlined flow inserts (which have a contoured manifold design, like small dies). The selector spool allows layer sequence arrangements to be preset upstream of the combining point in the feedblock without removing the feedblock from the line. The layers then pass through exchangeable, streamlined flow inserts, which combine polymer streams
in an optimal parallel-path manner. Should the coextrusion requirements change dramatically, these inserts can be readily accessed and exchanged.

A fixed wet lip to prevent distortion A flexible lip refines coat weight distribution across the substrate with manual or automatic adjusting mechanisms. (Application specific lip face designs are available.) Corrosion-resistant body materials Removable lip inserts Computer-engineered coathanger manifolds
Deckling Systems
Deckles are adjustable devices that vary end product width by blocking off portions of the die slot from both ends of the die. EDI offers a wide range of external and internal types. External deckling systems include: fixed-side deckles, flex-side deckles, sliding cantilevered wedge-style deckles, and Fast Deckle. Internal deckling systems include: EPC full internal/external deckle with edge profile control and EPC-R partial internal deckles (lip-land blades) for edge profile control. Both internal deckling options are available in motorized systems.
Die Carts
Safely support your extrusion die while it is in operation with a horizontal mounting die cart. Design your cart to help you work more efficiently, include an operator's platform or supports for other items mounted close to the die (e.g., feed pipes or screen changers).
Achieve better stabilization of extruded film with a dual chamber vacuum box than with other web-impingement devices. A pre-sweep chamber removes the entrained air between the surface of the casting roll and the film. A second chamber develops a higher vacuum that stabilizes the film forming area, reduces neck-in, and controls the movement of the film's edge. To simplify cleaning, maintenance, and installation, the dual chamber vacuum box is constructed of stainless steel and features a swing-out, split chamber. Various blade configurations, adjustable at the pre-sweep section as well as between pre-sweep and primary chambers, can be supplied.
