Buenos Aires Trade Mission To Germany 2012

August 15th to 19th Kln Germany

The City of Buenos Aires industrial sector is characterized by its talent, creativity, innovation and added value, as foundation for all products in the major sectors of the City -such as fashion, software, music, publishing, design, audiovisual, cultural industries, and others-. But there is yet another industry which has two advantages compared to the other sectors, whether in Argentina, the City, or around the world: that is, the industry of Video-Game developers. - The first advantage is the confluence between different industries, such as music, or software design, which results in higher added value products, and therefore a higher level of turnover. - The second advantage is to have had many technological advances in the past years, which are a result, not only in Argentina but the entire world, of a sustainable industry and a prolonged growth, which, according to several sources, has occurred since 1982, boosting that growth since 2000. These two advantages led the game industry sales to surpass the film industry in 2009 in major international markets, like the United States and Great Britain. In this context, the Trade Mission to Germany constitutes an activity that seeks to strengthen the ties, both commercial and institutional, between both markets. We began to establish the European market in the last 3 editions of the Game Developers Conference, carried out in San Francisco - USA, and in the Argentine Videogame Expo, which involved companies from Germany and Great Britain, among others. The methodology applied to achieve this goal is by working together with the Video-Game Developers Association of Argentina, an entity which plans and executes the Internationalization Program. This scheme was designed to promote the commercialization of products developed in Argentina by organizing activities and through the participation in large scale events. OBJECTIVES - Generate trade development for the local videogames developers. - Consolidate the growth of the companies that participate in the trade mission. - Provide business opportunities with international companies. - Offer local companies different tools to follow up contacts made in Game Business, the business place of the Argentine Videogame Expo.
