Jerusalem

Shalom Rene,
The British national daily newspaper The Guardian recently reported that a former general of Iran's Revolutionary Guards said Iran is misleading the world about its nuclear intentions.

The former general accused Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Irans Supreme Leader, of lying about its nuclear program, which he says is not for peaceful purposes.

He also said that Khameneis crackdown on political opposition has left him with blood on his hands.

The Guardian obtained the information in a telephone interview with Mohammad Nourizad, an Iranian opposition activist who is also a filmmaker and former journalist who was imprisoned in 2010 for writing letters to Khamenei urging him to apologize to the Iranian people.

Iran's Supreme Leader is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces (the highest rank insignia of the Iranian military). In the above photo he is meeting with the Commanders of Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran (Army, Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and Police).

Hillary Clinton and Tony Blair Visit Israel

"The LORD [YHVH] is in His holy temple; the LORD [YHVH] is on His heavenly throne. He observes everyone on earth; His eyes examine them." (Psalm 11:4)

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (whose son-in-law is Jewish) arrived in Israel last week to discuss Middle East peace.

After a full day of talks with Prime Minister Netanyahu, President Peres, Foreign Minister Lieberman and Defense Minister Barak, Clinton told reporters at a press conference in Jerusalem that the entire world has an interest in preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

We will use all elements of American power to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, Clinton said.

In her first visit to Israel in two years, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton met with the likes of President Shimon Peres (above right) to discuss how to deal with Iran, as well as other critical Middle East peace issues.

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, who was in Israel last week to revive the stalled Palestinian peace process, said in a CNN interview that Iran with a nuclear bomb is not something we should contemplate.

He emphasized Israels difficult position: Youre Israel, youre sitting here, youve got a country [Iran] that wants to acquire a nuclear bomb and says that you basically shouldnt exist as a state.

In regard to the Palestinian peace process, he said, Im worried and frustrated, too. Weve managed to keep this whole process from collapsing, but thats not the same thing as getting it moving.

Secretary Clinton recommended that the Palestinians return to negotiation.

It is only through negotiation, not through international venues or unilateral acts, that peace can be and will be
secured, she said.

Former Prime Minister Tony Blair is seen here speaking at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee Policy Conference in 2010, where he stressed the need to resolve the Israeli Palestinian conflict.

Prior to her visit in Israel, Clinton visited Egypt, where she met with newly elected President Mursi.

At a joint press conference with Egypts Foreign Minister Mohammed Amr in Cairo, she emphasized US support of the Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty.

We certainly support the continuation of the peace agreement, because we think it has brought great benefits to
Egypt, she told reporters.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister interjected, however, that Mursi will respect the treaty so long as peace is comprehensive, exactly as stipulated in the treaty itself. And this also includes the Palestinians, of course, and their right to have their own state on the land that was the pre June 4th, 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital (US Department of State).

The historical record reveals that the Jewish People have been gathering at the Western (Wailing) Wall in the Old City of Jerusalem to pray since before the fourth century. It is the logical place to come as the Western Wall is part of the retaining wall for the Temple Mount, and the last vestige of the Second Temple. Later this week is the Holy Day of Tish B'Av which commemorates the destruction of the First and Second Temples.

Iranian-Canadians are Being Recruited by Iran

Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked, from the plots of evildoers. (Psalm 64:2)

Terrorism experts are concerned that Iranian-Canadians are being recruited to carry out attacks against the United States on behalf of their beloved Iran.

Hamid Mohammadi, Irans cultural affairs counselor in Ottawa, has called on Iranian-Canadians to resist being melted into the dominant Canadian culture and to occupy high-level key positions in government (Fox News).

Definitely there is recruitment, Steven Emerson, executive director of the Washington-based Investigative Project on
Terrorism told reporters. They want Iranians with Canadian passports, Iranians with US passports (Prophecy News Watch).

Canada responded quickly to this potential threat, which places Canadas national security reputation in jeopardy, by warning Iranian diplomats that Irans embassy should not be used for recruitment.

Iranian-Canadians have rejected the oppressive Iranian regime and have chosen to come to Canada to build better
lives. The Iranian Embassy should not interfere in their choices, a spokesperson for Canadas Foreign Affairs Ministry John Baird told the National Post.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Thanks American Christians

I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! (Romans 11:1)

Speaking from Jerusalem via satellite, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu thanked thousands of Christian gathered in Washington for supporting Israel.

"The bad news is that numbers count, and we [Jews] are a small people. The good news is that Israel is not alone: it has your support, he told those gathered for the Christians United for Israel (CUFI) Summit (CBN).

You stand with us when Israel refuses to accept one of the greatest lies in modern times, that the Jewish people are
foreign occupiers of Judea and Samaria, he said (Jerusalem Post).

CUFI, a pro-Israel American group with over one million members, was founded in 2006 by Pastor John Hagee.

"Those of you in this audience who stand in solidarity with Israel and the Jewish people, give a rousing shout of support that can be heard in Jerusalem, in Iran, and all the way to the White House," Hagee told the annual gathering of Israels supporters.

Israel Advised to Brace for Syrian Missile Attack

"An oracle concerning Damascus: 'See, Damascus will no longer be a city but will become a heap of ruins.'" (Isaiah 17:1)

In Isaiah 17:1, the prophet Isaiah foretold that Damascus, the world's oldest continuously inhabited city, will one day cease to exist as a city. This prophecy has yet to be fulfilled, but recent events in the city may indicate that this time is coming.

Syria remains in the throes of increasing violence and deadly turmoil as dictatorial President Assad continues to try to crush uprisings against his oppressive government.

As the war for control of the country continues, a battle for Damascus, Syrias capital, has taken shape. Rebels have converged on the capital, and the fighting is heavy.

Death tolls are reportedly high, and as of Friday, four of Assad's close inner circle had died.

Experts have warned that the violence in Syria may spillover into Israel, and Western military sources have advised Israel to be ready for surface-to-surface missile attacks.

Moreover, Western Intelligence watchdogs have confirmed that the Syrian government has taken some of its chemical weapons out of storage.

Assad reportedly has an enormous stockpile of mustard gas, sarin gas (a deadly nerve agent) and cyanide at his disposal. Since Syria has not joined the 1997 Chemical Weapons Convention, this international watchdog has no power to intervene (Israel Hayom).

While some experts think that Assad may be preparing to ethnically cleanse his own people, others have argued the move was to prevent the weapons from falling into the hands of groups like al-Qaida.

We repeatedly made it clear that the Syrian government has a responsibility to safeguard its stockpiles of chemical
weapons, the U.S State Department said. The international community will hold accountable any Syrian officials who fail to meet that obligation."

Rene, although the Damascus Prophecy seems about to come true and wars loom on the horizon as the stability of the nations deteriorates, Yeshua (Jesus), who foresaw these end-time conditions, told us not to be troubled (Matthew 24:6).

The Lord is my light and my salvationwhom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my lifeof whom shall I be
afraid? (Psalm 27:1)

We know from Scripture that God will take care of us. But there are many lost souls who do not yet know the Lord, and terrifying times are ahead of them, perhaps especially so in the Middle East.

Please take the time today to stand with us as we bring Yeshua (Jesus) to Israel and the nations.
