Bahrain arrests terrorism suspect


Bahraini police on Monday announced the arrest of a suspect wanted for possession and production of "explosives for terrorist aims" in the Gulf state which has been the scene of Shia-led protests. Jaafar Hussein Eid is one of three people wanted for

setting up hideouts "to produce and store explosives for terrorist ends," said public security chief Major General Tareq al-Hassan. Eid has been referred to the public prosecution while the search goes on for the accomplices, he said, quoted by national news agency BNA. Read More

Bahrain installs new ACs in prison


Bahrain has installed 12 free-standing air conditioning units and large generators to power them as an emergency measure at the kingdoms biggest jail, said a top ofcial. It follows complaints over poor air conditioning at the Interior Ministry's Reform and Rehabilitation Centre (Jaw Prison).

Custom-built large air conditioners will be installed in the next few days, said said centre acting head and head of its administration and nance section Captain Jassim Al Mulla. "The large new units, higher in tonnage to the existing units, were ordered four months ago and are now being installed," he added.
