JSW Group is one of the fastest growing business conglomerates with a strong presence in the Core-Economic sector. Currently, JSL carries out its Financial Planning & Budgeting activity across its locations consolidated up to JSL level using Excel Spreadsheets. Since the process is manual and is heavily dependent on Excel Spreadsheets, coordinating and managing the model with number of locations, iterations & versions and ensuring data accuracy becomes very difficult task. As part of the implementation we are building Hyperion application for budgeting, monthly and actual reporting and the variance logic based on the client requirement Key Activities Involved:

Balco is subsidiary of Vedanta Resources Plc, a London Stock Exchange listed, FTSE 100 Global Metals & Mining Group, having interests in aluminum, copper, zinc, lead and recently, iron & steel. The group has operations in India, Australia, and Zambia. Currently the budgeting process for BALCO is done through excel. The Business Controller collates the data for the Budget which is in turn used to generate the Business Plan (Budget). The objective of this project is to move VAL from excel based budgeting to a packaged application software Hyperion Planning, for planning and budgeting, to prepare financial reports and to integrate with corporate hyperion cube. Key Activities Involved:

Analyzed the Business requirement and functional spec to convert that into technical design. Involved in Design and integration to the existing Hyperion Planning Applications. 5) Client: IBM, Vodafone Jun 2008 to April 2009 Tools: Hyperion Essbase, Excel add in, smart view and excel macros, Hyperion Enterprise Description: The Client is a leading group in Telecoms Industry with its presence felt across the globe. The client uses the Hyperion essbase for automating their monthly reporting Process, integrating their data sources and consolidation of various circles involved. Figures are loaded from each circle which is then consolidated at corporate level. Planning figures are planned using the actual data which is stored in a different cube and required data is loaded into planning cube using Partitioning, For automating the monthly process the business rules were defined which generates the circle wise reports and their respective Profit and Loss Accounts. The Challenges to the Project were to understand the Vodafone Enterprise Application and Map it to Essbase Application Key Activities Involved: . Created Load files to load the data directly from the RDBMS into Essbase and Enterprise Developed automated Windows batch script using Hyperion Essbase ESSCMDs, to load data directly from RDBMS & Running of Calculation scripts. Developed & enhanced business rules with user prompts as per requirement Developed & enhanced calculation scripts for Actual application as per the requirement.
