1.1 This is a contractual agreement between Christian Church International Thika (hereafter referred to as the Employer) and Mr/Mrs/Miss . (hereafter referred to as the Employee). ID NO. Condition of employment One must be a born again Christian and confessing Jesus Christ as his/her personal saviour. 2 Contract of Employment 2.1 The employee shall commence his or her duties on or at any other date mutually agreed between the employer and the employee. 2.2 The Employee shall be employed on probation for a period of 3 months upon which after the successful completion of the probation period the employee will be confirmed for the full term of the contract which is three (3) years. In the event that one does not satisfy the employer after the first probation period he/she will be given other 3 months probation period. After six months probation period if the employer is not satisfied with the performance of the employee the contract will be terminated within 30 days in lieu of notice (at the discretion of the employer). 2.3 This Employment contract is valid for a period of 3 years. At the end of this period, if the parties mutually agree, then a new contract will be drawn up based on the negotiated conditions then. 3 Appointment

3.1 The employee is engaged on contract in the capacity of 3.2 The employee shall receive a remuneration amounting to Kshs only per month before tax. All earnings shall be subject to the income Tax Act, Local and any other statutory deductions required under the law. 3.3 The place of employment shall be Christian Church International Thika but occasions may arise when it is necessary for the employee to work outside Thika or outside Kenya.

3.4 The employee shall report to or any other person in the management as directed. 4 4.1 Duties and Responsibilities The Employee is employed in the capacity as stated in 1.1 and shall be expected to carry out the duties and bear the responsibilities as set herein and further detailed in the Job Description and Competency Profile. It is expressly agreed between the parties that the employer may extend the employees duties and responsibilities to cover matters not listed herein. 5 Performance criteria

5.1 The employees performance shall be measured against his/her Job Description and agreed criteria. 6 Termination of Contract

6.1 During the contract period the employer may terminate the services of the employee on the following grounds; 6.1.1 6.1.2 6.1.3 6.1.4 Where the employee, due to illness or incapacity, is unable to perform his/her functions for a reasonable period of time. Any gross default, misconduct or breach or non-observance of any of the conditions herein contained by the employee. Dismissal in terms of the employers disciplinary code. Death of the employee.

6.2 The employee may, at any time, terminate his/her employment by giving one months notice to the employer or one months salary in lieu of notice. 7 Conditions of Contract

7.1 The employee shall work five (5) days a week, eight hours a day. 7.2 An employee may be called upon to work extra hours on special arrangement. 7.3 The employer shall pay the employee, every completed month, a monthly salary as agreed upon by the parties. 7.4 The employees salary shall be subject to statutory deductions as may lawfully be required from time to time. 7.5 The employee shall not incur any expenses like travel expenses without prior written authorization. 7.6 Only reasonable, properly motivated and documented church expenses shall be paid. 7.7 The employee will be required to make his or her own travel arrangements to come and return from work. 7.8 Paid leave entitlement shall be 24 working days for each completed 12 months of service, to be taken at the convenience of the employer. If unavoidable, or in cases

of exigencies, unpaid leave must be applied for and approved in advance by the employer. 7.9 Whenever one will be prevented by illness from carrying out duties, he/she will be required to furnish a medical certificate by a medical practitioner to the effect within two (2) consecutive days of absence. Provided a qualified medical practitioner is satisfied that there is a reasonable prospect of eventual recovery and fitness for duty, one may be granted a sick leave subject to a maximum of one year. This will be divided as follows; The first four (4) months one will be on full pay and then eight (8) months on half pay. In assessing the entitlement to sick leave, account shall be taken of whatever sick leave has been taken during the relevant period proceeding ones illness. After one year termination follows on health ground. 7.10 One will be entitled to 24 working days in a year of mission leave. If one takes less days than the 24 working days, the balance will be forfeited. If one takes more than 24 working days, the balance will be deducted from the annual leave. The mission leave must be applied to the Church Council through the Church Administrator. The application for the mission leave must be submitted one month before the mission. The mission leave only applies to missions organized by the church. The Church Council has the right to accept or reject or shorted the leave as it deems fit. 7.11 One will be entitled to 90 calendar days maternity leave and forfeit the annual leave and 14 calendar days for paternity leave. 7.12 The employee shall adhere to the safety rules and instructions. Matters concerning safety may be introduced and amended at the discretion of the employer. 7.13 Conditions of employment not specified in this contract shall be governed by the relevant statutory Acts. 8 Undertakings of the Employee

8.1 The employee shall devote his/her full time and attention to his/her duties and responsibilities and he/she shall obey and comply with all lawful orders and directions given to him/her by the employer or his designated officers. He/she shall also endeavour to promote and maintain the success and reputation of the church and its interests. 8.2 The employee undertakes receipt of the church rules and regulations document and undertakes to fully adhere to all rules and regulations as specified. 8.3 The employee shall abide to the churchs operating policies and procedures, in particular, the disciplinary procedure and code of conduct. 8.4 The employee shall not work for any other employer, nor offer his/her services in any consulting capacity without the prior written approval of the employer. 8.5 The employee acknowledges that telephones and fax lines are for church business only. 8.6 The employer and the employee acknowledges that the scope of employment and nature of work may alter from time to time. For this reason, the contract of employment may be changed, altered or amended by the employer within reason and the event of a reasonable period of notice and consultation shall take place, where after details shall be noted on a similar document which shall be regarded as an addendum to the original contract.

CONFIDENTIALITY

9.1 This undertakes not to disclose any unauthorised information of Christian Church International Thika. 9.2 Should the employee breach this undertaking of confidentiality, he/she shall incur personal responsibility. 10 DISPUTE RESOLUTION 10.1 In the event that a dispute is not resolved by the Church Administrator it will be referred to the Administrative Board. The Church Council will be the final arbitrator in the dispute and its decision shall be binding to both parties.
