You see, real communication skills produces dependable, predictable and even measurable results for you and your business or personal life. The junk that passes for effective communication skills in society or while growing up, should be described as: The Lets Do The Proper Thing, And Communicate to People In Such A Boring Way, That No One Will Respond, But We Will At Least Be Called Nice! In other words, we will sure have manners, or be proper. We will never have power to be influential. We will not have more money or love interests, but, hey, whats more important? (By the way, I am not advocating anything sleazy or obnoxious. Never. So if you are wondering if that is what I am talking about, put that thought out of your mind.) OK Nathan. What are you talking about? PEOPLE ONLY RESPOND TO HOW THEY HAVE BEEN TRAINED TO!!! If you communicate to the way theyve been trained to respond to by the money elite, they will buy from you or be attracted to you, and it will not matter what you have to sell, how much money you make, look like, your confidence level, and so on. You could have any one of the hundreds of proper communication skills to use, and they could care less to respond to you the way you want them to. All they want is to be influenced the way theyre used to being influenced. If you went out tomorrow and completely changed your appearance to something radical, a person would still do what you wanted them to do, if you do like the money elite does!

Now, follow through with me on this. If all they do is respond to the way they are trained to by the money elite i.e. the media, politicians, Hollywood, religious leaders, gurus, advertisers, etc. why wouldnt the exact same skills work for you? What we are really talking about here is CONVERSATIONAL HYPNOSIS. How much influence do you demonstrate by extolling the virtues of leadership? There is nothing more seductive than demonstrating your caring and understanding of how they have been trained to be talked to so that they do what you want them to do. If people truly feel as if you communicate even if only subconsciously, just like the elite or authority figures, and that you are not like usual followers, they will respond to you and do what you want them to do without even knowing why! (Yes of course, were trying to be nice so they like us, but NOT LIKE YOU HAVE BEEN LED TO BELIEVE! That comes later. First, we have to get them to understand subconsciously that we have the power and control.) Am I making any sense? Even if you never buy anything from me, I want you to promise me you will lose your follow the leader mode, and enter into the persons mind and what he or she is already thinking and feeling. (Which is not done by being a follower. I guarantee!) Lead them. Get into their head. And they will get into yours and do what you want them to do! Which brings up another mistake we all make: Talking about ourselves instead of talking about them! Bragging about how much money you make, what you can bench press, what type of house you live in, how smart you are, who your friends are, and so on is a natural tendency. We assume that in order to get them to like us and become influenced by us, they want to be convinced we are some sort of perfect human being especially when we first meet them. Ive got some news for you. NO One cares or listens to this propaganda! Want to know why? Because we all say the exact same thing! Yes we do. Every person tells each other and demonstrates how they are the best. They have the most friends on Facebook or Twitter followers. Or knowledge. Or degrees. Or financial stability. Or the best product. Or is the one who is right. Or the best car. Or live in the best neighborhood. Or can be trusted most. And on and on and on. Its true. Oh, by the way, it is completely irrelevant whether you are the best or not. Since everyone says they are, you cannot possibly differentiate yourself using any bragging. The reason this kind of talk doesnt bring in any results is, yes, you guessed it, not communicating like the money elite does using leadership influence. Do you think you can get across any influence by talking about yourself and doing what everyone else is doing? Try getting someone you just met at a party or meeting, to like you, by talking about yourself the entire conversation! They will probably think you are a pompous windbag. Then, theyll shy away from you because they want to be talking about themselves. And because they dont like you now, youll never get the chance to influence them. (So NO, this is not the way to win friends and influence people.)

You must talk about them, their lives, desires, what pleasures them, worries, fears, doubts, and disbeliefs. There will be a time later to talk about what you have to offer. But first, you must make them curious and interested. You must position yourself as a leader. And the only way you do that is by taking the time to develop these subconsciously-coded communication skills, along with some empathy, compassion, and insatiable curiosity about them. Time to develop feelings of comfort and connection. Time to get into the emotional part of their brain. And there is no quicker way to destroy this process from the beginning, than to brag about how wonderful we are. Its too soon in the process. There will be time for that later. (I want to address something here. I have written 1,193 words of copy talking to you about you, your life, and what your problems are. I still havent said a word about me. Yet. If you are reading this, then I am doing my job of communicating without bragging! Keep that in mind, as we talk about this later!) Another point that ties into this that we make another mistake: Telling people what you think they need because it benefits you to do so, instead of what they truly WANT and THEN tying it to your benefit! Nobody ever captured a lover and developed an amazing relationship with them by pretending to be what they think the person should want in another person. Many people have captured lovers by putting themselves in front of enough potential lovers so they could truly just be themselves and meet the kind of person who is irresistibly attracted to who they truly are as a person. Nobody ever got rich selling people what they think the public should buy. Many people have become rich selling people exactly what they want! It doesnt matter what you think. Only what they think! What do they want, you ask? Someone who empathizes with them, and is not threatening! (Funny how this all ties together, isnt it?) Another problem is that we overestimate the sophistication of people. Let me tell you that many people have gone broke and remained alone doing this. While no one has ever gone belly-up, doing the opposite. Everyone has the same emotional hot buttons. You have to get through to them, in an interesting and compelling way, or you will lose them. Another way to say this is that high-fallutin professional language is BORING! Yes, you hear me, boring. I dont care how wealthy or educated the person youre talking to is, if you communicate in a highly sophisticated manner, they will fall asleep in the first few minutes. Think about how fast you nod off when reading some technical information, versus a down to earth, conversational piece. (Like this one, I hope!) So why are your prospects or potential lovers any different from you? Do you really think people get excited over things like: made from titanium alloy forged in the mountains deep in the forest inside a diamond cave or Meeting you has been an absolute pleasure. Yes, we shall do it again sometime ? Well, do you? The only people who like this language is us if were even into that right? But, are we trying to impress each other, or get clients eager to do business with us or potential lovers irresistibly attracted to us?
