Psychology bondage and God’s word

I remember my college psychology studies very well. The professor had the
typical evolutionary theory about human nature. Evolution permeates as a
foundation many of man’s theories. He believed that all a person’s activities
were about self preservation.

Even a mother, who runs back inside a burning house to save her child, only
does so to keep herself from feeling guilt. We had some great debates there.
Makes you think. It would seem to make sense to a lot of young minds who
have no other reference point from which to measure.

The so called father of psychology, Sigmund Freud, was a patch work of

weirdness himself. Not only did he have a lot of family problems that he
incorporated in his theories but Charles Darwin was one of his heroes. He
also believed some weird stuff, like the persistent notion that he would die at
3 times the number 17. He didn’t.

Oh well, the blind cannot lead the blind, they both will end up in the ditch.

Fortunately psychology did not begin with Freud. We see it at work from the
very first in the book of Genesis. From the book of Genesis onward we see
how humans and even nature itself went into bondage, from which many
terrible things have come. All these things affect the minds of men.

These things include murders, thefts, and all sorts of sexual abuse, assaults,
sorceries, bad attitudes, weird thought and fears. These things constitute a
tall order for any discipline to deal with.

These are the things psychiatry purports to help people to overcome. In

today’s world almost everyone seems to need this help at some point in time.

Something happens at School, home, Church, work, marriage, war or even

on the other side of the world and the psychiatrist is called to help people
work through it.

I remember suggesting to my professor, that the psychologist seemed to

serve much of the same purpose as the local witch doctors did in many
primitive societies. To my surprise, he didn’t disagree strongly.
When you think about it, unless there is something physically wrong that
can be fixed, most of the rest of psychiatry is about being a sounding board
and expecting the patient to find a reference from which that person works
out a protocol of thought and actions that allow him to be able to get along
with others and himself. That way, at least he may be productive or more
productive in society. In other words, you learn to live with it, bubbling
under the surfaces of conscious, somewhere.

So many individuals do not have real freedom from bondage. From the
person who killed someone needlessly, abused sexually, did assaults, thefts,
caused fears and hatreds to all those that were their victims, they continually
fight the bondage to a more or less degree, all their lives.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach
the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach
deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at
liberty them that are bruised,”…Jesus Christ, Luke 4:18

In Scripture, Jesus is called the beginning of the creation of God, not

because of the old creation, but because of the new. He is also called the
Second Adam, for the very same reason.

As with the fall of Adam, in that creation, bondage abounds, even so with
the Second Adam (Jesus) comes freedom that much more abounds.

If anyone has a heart to see this, he will.

Ever wondered, why royalty in ancient Egypt, never seemed to have a

problem with incest? Even Abraham married his half sister and we the
people in the western world goes eeeewwww! Then we think, hold on, that
was Abraham. Yea, many a person is in bondage right now, both the abuser
and the abused for ostensibly doing what Abraham did.

People standing in anger, rage and turmoil suffered until death because of
these very things.

Question: when there is no consciousness of error, is there any reason for

shame or anger over something?
The Apostle Paul put it this way. “Until the law came, Sin was in the world,
but sin is not reputed, where there is no law.”

None of these people had a consciousness of doing wrong and was not held
guilty of any, because God is Just.

But when God determined to show his way more perfectly, he knew this
knowledge would bring blessings for those who used the information
correctly and would make those that walked in ignorance responsible for
doing wrong. So after these times, to use modern vernacular, the same acts
became a psychological problem. Neither can we pretend that we are of
those that do not know. Men everywhere now know. Of course that does not
help those that have done any of the deeds above. They cannot go back in
time and change their own actions or the pains of those who were anguished
by abusers.

The doer of these things knows he is guilty and those mistreated feel soiled
and often finds themselves incapable of thinking anyway reconcilably
towards the criminal.

God sent Jesus, to put to death, lawfully every sinner. (Everybody) As the
Apostle Paul noted, “We judge (logically understand) that if one died for all
that means all IS DEAD.”

Adam sinned and started a fleshly line of dying individuals. Jesus was sent
to be born into that line to reverse death. Not by somehow defying God, but
because of His will. And not by stopping dying flesh but by putting it to
death and giving them a new opportunity while they live out the rest of their
time, to become a super being as he had with the Father before the earth was.

Understand:

A man who has a wife who goes to be with another is called an adulterer.
But if he does the same thing after his wife is dead, he is not called an
adulterer. This is a key that God used and still held on to his principles.
So, if you can receive it, as a fleshly human being, the sentence of death has
been carried out in Christ.

If you cannot believe it, the sentence has been carried out in Christ still and
all there is to look forward to is death. Neither is there any freedom from the
bondage that we speak of as long as you finish you lifetime (or rather death
time). You must learn to live with. Eat drink and be merry for tomorrow you
die.

There are those that will always refuse and think they have escaped God’s
hand. They refuse to see very plainly that they cannot do anything without
the laws of the universe. In them they have a being. Without them there is
nothing. They have bought into the lie that to obey the Almighty is the
bondage.

God has shown his faithfulness in that after his higher spiritual laws, under
free-will were broken, instead of saying they no longer apply and allowing
the universe to burn itself asunder, he sent his Son to fulfill the rule that to
break his law is to cease to function. This is shown in all things that man
does, so no one can say I didn’t have any sense of it.

Violate the laws of electricity, biology, or physics of any kind and everything
that depends on the laws (and everything does) ceases to function. So Jesus
came to cease to function for us. To die.

All who accepts God’s way, even if he is the criminal and may be headed to
execution (Paul said after his arrest, if I have done anything worthy of death,
I don’t refuse to die) He is free. He will receive his punishment by man, but
if he is truly a changed man God knows.

Now hear this plainly:

He that has been put to death by Christ and is now living Christ’s life in
place of his own, is not guilty of anything, nor can he or she be filthy of
anything. This person willingly gives up all to Christ. He may fake men but
he cannot fake The Father of all. Because as the Apostle put it, that through
Christ, “I am crucified to the world, yet I live, but it’s not me that is living
but Christ” You will know them by what they do.
Neither can any man Judge that person, because who has known the mind of
God. Neither is he sufficient to judge himself.

As it is written, “if any mans heart condemns him, he should know that God
is greater than his heart.”

Now, here is what may seem a tricky statement by the Apostle Paul, You
should understand it now, if you didn’t before.

Read all of Romans 7- 8 and understand, Paul is not talking about

philosophical way of thinking here; he is speaking of the state of the
universe as God has laid the foundation for the beginnings of the new
creation by Jesus’ mission and the recreation of a people that will be ruling
that universe. Paul had just acknowledged that God’s Law is right. Then he
continues below.

16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is
good.
17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for
to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that
I do.
20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that
dwelleth in me.
21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my
mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my
members.
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this
death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I
myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

ROMANS CHAPTER 8
1 ¶ There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ
Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from
the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh,
God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin,
condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not
after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they
that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life
and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to
the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of
God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none
of his.
10 ¶ And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit
is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you,
he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies
by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the
flesh.
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do
mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye
have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

He references the fact that he as we all are allowed to continue to live in this
lawfully dead body and as long as we do, It will always want what a natural
person wants. It is our task, in the midst of this, to choose what the Spirit
tells us. Even if we fail in that endeavor at times, it’s not even thought of by
God as us that fails. He counts that to be the lawfully dead man who cannot
legally break the law anymore because he’s lawfully dead. He doesn’t want
anyone to get the wrong idea, because if you love the natural self and nurture
all it’s desires all you still receive is death when it expires.

But if you use the Spirit to over come the natural self tendencies that are
against God’s way, then you show Christ life in you and it is NOW ONLY
those things that you do through the SPIRIT that is counted to be YOU, the
new creation of God.

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass(mirror) the glory of the
Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the
Spirit of the Lord. ..2 Cor 3:18
It’s like lifting weights, where you build muscles. Only with the weight of
the legally dead natural body, we build character and do things that no
natural man can do that are not being transformed by God.

If any person, that is a Christian claim that he is only like every other natural
person, he is denying God’s salvation.

As it is written, there is nothing that profits in Christ except a new creation.

And it states if “any man be in Christ he is a new creation.” Old things have
passed away and everything has become new. Many treat this as just
philosophical, just a mental construction and are still in bondage.

Know this. It’s the Almighty’s doing and it is true wither anyone frames their
mind in any particular way or not.

No one has a right to hold you or anyone guilty of anything once

transformation begins. But no man will accept this either, so if you have
done wrong, not as the new man, but as the old man. Man will punish you.
He cannot tell, Neither has he been required to try to know your state. The
natural man cannot know the things of God. They are foolishness to him.
They can only be understood by someone with God’s spirit.

If we are they that have accepted this saving Grace from the Almighty, let’s
not stand around wondering, nor try to hold on to things that God says no
longer is binding. Let’s move forward doing things that we could not
naturally do. Let’s not just have a form of Godliness, while denying the
power of it. Let’s have total trust in God’s work in us AND UNDERSTAND
THAT If someone is willing to die for you there is no way he will hold back
from us any good thing and those that think he will does not know God.

Years ago, I heard a man ask a question saying, how do you think they hold
those big Elephants with a small stake hammered in the ground? He said, as
small young elephants, they put Iron stakes way down in the ground. The
young elephant tries his best to break away. After he has been conditioned to
the belief that he cannot escape, even when he is a grown multi-tonnage
elephant, a small stake is able to hold him because he doesn’t even try. This
is a saying by a man and is useful to everyone. How much more useful is the
WORD of the Creator!

Since anyone who has been involved in any bondage mentioned above and
in Christ is truly free and does not have to find a way to just live with it. In
fact that person he or she used to be is dead. God says they are not held
regardless what man thinks.

Only what they do through the spirit is counted as their doings, now in
God’s sight. We establish the law perfectly because nothing ever done
through the Spirit is sin or against God law. So we still have the law as a
plum bob so we all have the same standard and know when we are in his
will and not deceive ourselves. If they do this to the best of their continued
learning of and following God’s way, no matter the failures, nothing or no
one can lay a charge of guilt against them.

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that
justifieth. 34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather,
that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh
intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall
tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or
sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are
accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that
loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor
principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor
height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from
the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord…..Romans 8:33-39

Then let them know also, that they know the truth and the truth have set
them free!
