PREFACE
This Standard was prepared by the Joint Standards Australia/Standards New Zealand
Committee IT/1, Information Systems—Interconnection, to supersede AS 4033.2—1992.
This Standard is identical with and has been reproduced from ISO/IEC 10021-2:1996,
Information technology—Message Handling Systems (MHS): Overall architecture and its
Technical Corrigendum 1: 1998.
The objective of this Standard is to provide network designers with a definition of the
overall architecture of a message handling system including abstract models, various
configurations and naming and addressing issues.
As this Standard is reproduced from an International Standard, the following applies:
(a) Its number does not appear on each page of text and its identity is shown only on the
cover and title page.
This is a free 11 page sample. Access the full version at http://infostore.saiglobal.com.
(b) In the source text ‘this Recommendation/International Standard’ should read ‘this
Australian/New Zealand Standard’.
(c) A full point should be substituted for a comma when referring to a decimal marker.
