Earth leakage Relay

A LED is provided on the nameplate to give visual indication of relay operation along with a reset push button. When an earthfault or earth leakage occurs, earthIEE operates and its output contact closes to initiate tripping. The earthIEE can be manually tested by shorting terminals 6 and 7 of the relay. Another attractive feature of earthIEE is its size which is extremely compact. The case is suitable for DIN rail or panel mounting.

When relay type earthIEE is used with a suitably designed Core Balance Current Transformer (CBCT), the overall sensitivity achieved could be as low as 500 mA (for 1-10 mA relay) in the primary circuit. There is a built-in time delay to overcome transient effects and prevent unwanted operations. The PCBs of the earthIEE are designed on a computer to get optimum performance without sacrificing quality. Specially tested and heat-soaked components are used in the design of earthIEE.
