MCM Ministries Sponsors Conference for Healing from Trauma in Kingwood

Kingwood, Texas, July 27 , 2012: When you think that life will never be the same, it is time for change. That is the message of the Fractured No More . . . th Hope is Here conference to be held August 9 th through 12 , 2012, in Kingwood, Texas. Featuring international speaker, Sandra Sellmer Kersten, the conference will teach attendees how to break free of and heal from emotional and psychological trauma. Sponsored by MCM Ministries, the material is designed for both the individual as well as the caregiver. In a turbulent economy and a society experiencing chaotic change, many have experienced situations that have resulted in emotional, psychological or spiritual trauma. Unresolved, these traumas often later manifest in a physical illness. The 2002 study by Cusanic found that as many as 40 to 50 percent of illnesses were psychosomatic as well as 30 to 40 percent of emergency room cases.

The Fractured No More . . . Hope is Here conference will feature international trainer and speaker, Sandra Sellmer Kersten. The New Zealand resident has served as a teacher, speaker, and prayer minister for Elijah House Ministries for nine years. Her current focus is spreading the word of hope and educating individuals on how to escape the chains of trauma. While she has shared her teachings in countries across the globe, the Houston conference will be the first time the curriculum has been presented in the U.S. We are very fortunate to be able to bring Sandra to the Houston area, said Molly McNamara, founder of MCM Ministries, There are so many people experienced devastating loss which has had an impact on their health. We hope this conference will equip those serving in the medical community as well as the ministry with the tools needed to achieve true healing.

Cutting through the countless pages of theory that expound on the subject of emotional healing, Kersten provides practical steps for recovering from trauma. Attendees will be equipped to identify the many faces of traumatic such as: financial, fear based, betrayal, loss, emotional, neglect, secondary, generational, trauma absorbed in matter, and war and genocide. The conference sessions will cover what each type is, how it affects the sufferer, steps for healing, and practical demonstrations.

The Fractured No More . . . Hope is Here conference will be held on August 9 through 12 , 2012, at Calvary Christian Fellowship located at 1365 Northpark Dr, in Kingwood, Texas. The conference will be broken into four sessions: Thursday, 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm; Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm; Friday night, 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm; and Saturday, 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. Registration fees are $70 for the full conference including lunch on Friday or $63 for the conference alone. For those unable to attend the full day on Friday, a partial conference registration option is available for $50 including Thursday and Friday evening and Saturday morning.
