Anything worth having is
worth the wait that in-
cludes a state-of-the-art mid-
dle school. Port Clinton City
School District offcials re-
cently learned that the build-
ing will not be completed for
the frst day of school on Sept.
5. Students and staff will start
the new school year in the ex-
isting middle school on Fourth
Street. The plan is to moved
students and staff into the new
building in October.
We are very pleased with the
design of the building and can-
not move into a building that
is not ready for students and
staff, said Pat Adkins, Superin-
tendent of Schools. The com-
munity has waited a long time
for new school facilities and
this is too important to rush.
Twenty years from now we will
be measured by the quality
of the building not a starting
date.
The school district is fortu-
nate to have the existing mid-
dle school on Fourth Street so
that students and staff have
a familiar location for classes
to take place. A letter with the
changes to orientations and
Three weeks ago, it looked as
though the massive celebration
planned to celebrate Oliver Haz-
zard Perrys victory in the 1813
Battle of Lake Erie was going
to have to pass by Port Clinton.
The cost of hosting one of the
16 planned vessels in the Portage
River was just too high.
To that end, a committee has
been formed to host at least one
of those ships come Labor Day
weekend of 2013. However, at
least $30,000 must be raised lo-
cally to bring in one of those in-
credible vessels. Catawba resident
David Zavagno and his fellow
organizers with The Perry Group,
based on Put-in-Bay, have been
at this organizing business for the
commemorative event for at least
two years now, but Port Clinton
is getting into the effort a little
late.
Former Port Clinton Mayor
Debbie Hymore-Tester is heading
up the group that began follow-
ing a meeting between Beacon
Publisher John Schaffner and lo-
cal resident Dave Mehl and mem-
bers of the Port Clinton Area
Chamber of Commerce board
of directors. Chamber President
Laura Schlachter was directed to
a meeting with Zavagno by cur-
rent Mayor Vince Leone where
she was told that Port Clinton
was scheduled to receive two ves-
sels at a cost of $50,000.
I turned as white as the piece
of paper I was reading, said
Schlachter afterward. That group
was also told that there were no
funds for such an event in the
citys budget. Schaffner then met
with the mayor to ask only for lo-
gistical support for utilities need-
ed for the Tall Ship visit, which he
gave.
So now the fundraising begins.
First, the group needs to garner
$5,000 to reserve a ship. That ef-
fort should be completed by the
end of this week, according to
Hymore-Tester. The group is
scheduled to meet again on Aug.
20 to develop the fundraising
plan to acquire the remaining
$25,000. They hope to have Za-
vagno at that meeting to answer
questions that arose from discus-
sions on Monday.
One other exciting element was
added to the discussions on Mon-
day. It has been learned that The
Ohio State University March-
ing Band will headline a parade
through downtown Port Clinton
on Sunday, Sept. 1. A group con-
sisting of OSU Band Director Jon
Waters, an Ottawa County native,
PCHS band director Rod Miller,
Bob Snyder and Jim Radloff (Jon
Waters uncle) has invited all six
of the high school bands in Ot-
tawa County to participate.
Based on the success of the
fundraising efforts, Labor Day
weekend 2012 in Port Clinton
should be some kind of special
event!
I am very pleased that we will
be hosting this historical event
and celebrating the Battle of Lake
Erie Bicentennial which will bring
hundreds of visitors to our area
and the local residents to enjoy,
Hymore-Tester said. We have a
great committee that is dedicated
to bringing this to fruition.

Visitors generated nearly $1.6 billion in
business activity, including direct, indi-
rect and induced impacts, in the Lake Erie
Shores & Islands region in 2011. This valu-
able information was presented to the Erie
and Ottawa County Visitors Bureaus recent-
ly in a report on the 2011 travel year. The
biennial report was coordinated by the Ohio
Tourism Division and executed by Tourism
Economics. All 88 Ohio counties have the
opportunity to participate in this study.
The $1.6 billion in economic impact re-
ported is up more than 13 percent from the
last economic impact study, done for the
2009 travel year, when the nation was still
recovering from the economic downturn of
2008.
In Erie County alone, total economic im-
pact was $1.2 billion. Tourism employment
in Erie County for 2011 was 11,778 with
wages of $337.5 million. Travel and tourism
also generated $167 million in tax receipts.
Ottawa County economic impact was
$312 million with tourism-related employ-
ment of 3,050. Those jobs paid out $83.2
million in wages and generated $40 million
in tax receipts.
Tourism is an integral and driving compo-
nent of the Lake Erie Shores & Islands econ-
omy, sustaining a third of salaried employ-
ment in Erie County and nearly a quarter in
Ottawa County both far above the state

Port Clinton Middle School Principal Carrie Sanchez
met with her staff on Friday, Aug. 3, to inform them of the
delay and set plans for the start of school in the existing
middle school.
We committed to the community and families of Port
Clinton City Schools that we would build them the most
innovative and incredible middle school in the State of
Ohio and we refuse to accept anything less, she said.
We are not comfortable opening until it is ready to sup-
port the high quality education that Port Clinton Middle
School provides.
Adkins reported that the school district built into the
construction schedule a contingency plan in the event
opening of the building was delayed. That plan will be put
into motion for the start of the school year.
The addition to Bataan Primary Elementary School will
open as planned on Sept. 5 for students in grades pre-
school through two. Student in grades three through fve
will move into the Bataan Intermediate renovation when
it is complete. Those students will begin the new school
year in the Jefferson Elementary building as previously
determined. Parents and community can fnd construc-

The Port Clinton Area Chamber of Com-
merce and Ida Rupp Public Library invite
you to attend an interactive 90-minute
program on emotional intelligence offered
by Dr. Kitty Brandal, President of Corpo-
rate Compass Training and Development
at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at the Ida
Rupp Public Library.
Emotions can build or destroy. Rather
than tucking away emotions and avoid-
ing them, it is essential for people to know
how emotions can help make smart deci-
sions. Additionally, understanding other
peoples emotions can also help create
positive life changes, including achieving
success in the workplace, school, and with
personal relationships. Researchers and
practitioners alike have touted that emo-
tional intelligence is the single most pre-
dictor of leadership success. You will also
discover what an emotional hijack is and
how to mitigate the effects from that emo-
tional process. Brandal will also share the
methods of measuring your emotional in-
telligence quotient.
To sign up for the seminar, contact the
Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce
at 419-734-5503.
Each month the staff at
Edgewood Manor attends
a mandatory in-service on
a variety of topics relating
to the healthcare industry.
They range from environ-
mental safety to abuse to
mood and behaviors. Some
of the in-service topics are
mandatory by the Ohio
Department of Health oth-
ers can be at the discretion
of the facility.
The facility was fortunate
to have Lynn Ritter, PhD,
of the Alzheimers Asso-
ciation of Northwest Ohio
present on Mood & Behav-
iors. Lynn is responsible for
community outreach and
education for the Alzheim-
ers Association and has
passionately worked in this
position for 18 years speak-
ing to caregivers and loved
ones for those suffering
from Alzheimers disease.
We have been so lucky to
have Lynn in our facility on
several occasions to edu-
cate our staff on Alzheim-
ers and the moods and
behaviors associated with
the disease. Lynn is so pas-
sionate about her work and
teaches in a way our staff
can relate. We always look
forward to her presenting
at Edgewood, said Carrie
McGlothlin, Marketing Di-
rector at Edgewood Manor.
With Alzheimers and
other forms of dementia
on the rise, we will do any-
thing we can for our staff
to have a thorough under-
standing of our residents
and what they may be ex-
periencing.
If you would like addi-
tional information about
the facility, contact Carrie
McGlothlin at cmcgloth-

The Ohio Association of Community
Action Agencies has launched the Ohio
Vocation, Education, Training & Servic-
es Ohio VETS program at six pilot
Community Action Agencies in Ohio to
aid veterans at 200 percent of the federal
poverty level and below (i.e. $22,340 for a
single person, $30,260 for a couple, $38,180
for a family of three, $46,100 for a family of
four).
As the name indicates, the program will
offer education and training to assist veter-
ans in fnding meaningful employment at
a living wage, and provide them and their
families with other supportive services to
help them attain self-suffciency.
Ohio has the ffth largest veteran popu-
lation in the U.S. and with more service
men and women coming home, and a
higher unemployment and poverty rate
for veterans, we feel this program is very
important. It will not only aid our veter-
ans and local heroes, but will enhance the
economic security of Ohio, said Phil Cole,
executive director of OACAA.
There are more than 900,000 veterans
in Ohio and many more returning to an
economy that is still struggling and a job
market that remains sluggish. Those veter-
ans returning from the war in Iraq and Af-
ghanistan (Gulf War-era II veterans) have
seen higher than average unemployment
rates with a rate of 12.1 percent in 2011,
compared to 8.3 percent for all veterans
and 8.9 percent for the nation as a whole
according to the Bureau of Labor and Sta-
tistics. The percentage of veterans in pov-
erty has increased signifcantly in recent
years also. Currently, more than 1.4 million
veterans are living below the poverty line
and another 1.4 million veterans are living
just above it. Ohios Community Action
Agencies have the experience and the ser-
vices to help our struggling veterans attain
self-suffciency and live happy, healthy and
productive lives, Cole said.
The Ohio VETS program has already
received support from many community
leaders in Ohio, including U.S. Sen. Sher-
rod Brown and U.S. Rep. Steve Stivers.
Veterans who sacrifced to keep our
homeland safe should never have to wor-
ry about being homeless, Brown said.
Thats why community-based programs
like OACAAs Ohio VETS program are so
important. Rather than merely address the
symptom, this initiative connects veterans
with the skills needed to enter the work-
force and other resources needed to live
with dignity. This is about ensuring our
veterans have the benefts that they have
earned and deserve.
A veteran himself of Operation Iraqi
Freedom, and having served in the Ohio
Army National Guard for over 27 years,
Stivers believes in this program aimed at
helping returning veterans fnd jobs. With
the number of veterans returning from
Iraq and Afghanistan, we need to make ev-
ery effort to help our returning troops get
back to work right away, Stivers said.
Members of our military give so much
in service to our nation and programs like
this one help our veterans obtain employ-
ment, once they return home.
The Ohio VETS program is being offered
pilot locations throughout Ohio. The local
program is through WSOS (Wood, San-
dusky, Ottawa & Seneca Counties) Com-
munity Action Commission.
Eeach site will provide a case manager
dedicated to serving veterans that is ei-
ther a veteran themselves or has experi-
ence working with veterans, helping them
translate their military skills to civilian job
requirements. The case manager will meet
with the veteran and their family to deter-
mine their needs, any barriers to self-suf-
fciency and create short- and long-term
goals, with the ultimate objective of at-
taining meaningful employment and over-
coming economic instability. The agency
will then provide education, training and
supportive services, or refer the veteran to
services to help them attain their goals.
To help veterans gain meaningful em-
ployment, agencies will provide a variety of
services from training for resume building,
interviewing techniques, computer literacy
and vocational training, to working with
area employers to help them understand
the benefts of hiring veterans, including
tax incentives. Supportive services include
those needed to provide a safe and healthy
home from rental and mortgage assistance
to utilities assistance, transportation as-
sistance, clothing, food, fnancial literacy
training, life skills, parenting skills, school
readiness for children, emergency assis-
tance and mental health services. Agencies
will be partnering with local veterans ser-
vices agencies, local Jobs & Family Services
and other organizations to help provide
these wrap around services.
The pilot program will run through June
30, 2013.
It is our hope to expand this program
throughout the state, Cole concluded.
For information on the local program,
call 800-775-9767 or 419-334-8911.

On an average day, Stein Hospice
cares for as many as 130 veterans, many
of whom are searching for understand-
ing, acceptance and peace as they near
the end of life. To help them on their
journey, Stein Hospice is looking for
veterans along with non-veteran caring
men and women who would be willing
to visit a veteran. The visits are made at
private homes, nursing facilities and the
Ohio Veterans Homes in Sandusky and
Georgetown.
All volunteers must complete a 12-
hour training class, which covers such
topics as communication skills and vet-
eran end-of-life issues. The next class
will be held during September at the
Ohio Veterans Homes in Sandusky and
Georgetown. Classes are 9 a.m. to noon
on Sept. 11, 13, 18 and 20.
To register for the September class or

VFW Post 2480 recently hosted its ffth
annual M1 for Vets steak dinner. M1 for
Vets is the product of a conversation be-
tween J.J. OShea and friends about giving
something back to our wounded war he-
roes. It is a non-proft organization dedi-
cated to fnancial and logistical support
of returning Combat Wounded Veterans
for the purpose of competing in national
shooting sports. To accomplish the Project
provides logistical and fnancial support
to complete this mission. The Adaptive
Marksmanship Program is a core part of
the M1 for Vets Project which provides the
opportunity and skills to compete in Na-
tional, Regional and Local marksmanship
competitions and training venues. This
Project includes a high level of training,
competition, camaraderie, and healing for
these competitors, which allows for our
veterans to recover mentally and physi-
cally from their injuries and helps them to
reintegrate back into society.
The M1 for Vets group competes every
year at the National Riffe Competition at
Camp Perry in Port Clinton Ohio. The M1
Grand is the major piece of equipment
that is used. Donated guns from spon-
sors and funds generated from all corners
of the United States help to bring all this
together. Veterans from all 50 states are
welcome to come with J.J. to Camp Perry
to participate in the games. This year, 22
wounded veterans came together for fun
and shooting on the range. For the last
fve years the VFW Post 2480 members
have sponsored a FREE steak dinner for
the M1 for Vets group following the end
of their competition. After the M1 for Vets
members have enjoyed their meals, J.J. an-
nounces the recipient of the M1 Grand
award. This years recipient was Tyler
Burdik of Corpus Christy Texas. Tyler is a
US Navy Corpsman who was treating an
injured Marine when he too, was injured.
The near loss of both of his legs did not
dampen his spirit or commitment to help-
ing others or participating in the matches.
Tylers acceptance of the M1 Grand was
followed with a heart felt speech refer-
ring to his gratitude for the recognition,
the opportunity to participate, and with
much respect for those who came before
him and for those who will follow. Most
of all he wanted to relay his gratitude for
the American public for their help and
support upon his return from his service.
The VFW Post 2480 is proud to call Tyler
comrade and to have him as a member of
our post!
Earlier in the year, J.J., Tyler, and VFW
Post 2480 Commander Richard Ellis ap-
peared with other Wounded Warriors at
the Port Clinton Elementary schools to
teach the children that their injuries have
not changed who they are, only their phys-
ical appearance and that even with a dis-
ability anyone can achieve their goals and
make a difference. Following their presen-
tations, VFW 2480 Offcers arranged for
local Pizza parlors to donate pizzas and
sides for this group to enjoy at the VFW
post home. This token of our commu-
nitys appreciation for their service to our
country and to our local children was met
with humble thank yous and much grati-
tude.

of Ohio average of 8.7 percent tour-
ism employment and the Northwest
Ohio average of 10 percent.
Tourism is a diverse composite of
economic activities including trans-
portation, recreation, retail, lodging
and food and beverage sectors. The
direct sales spending break-
down by sector for our area
is approximately 32 percent
retail, 19 percent recreation
and entertainment, 18 per-
cent food and beverage, 17
percent lodging and 14 per-
cent transportation. Trans-
portation costs only comprise the
cost of air, train, ferry transportation,
car rental, etc. Gasoline costs are in-
cluded in the retail sector.
Using an average visitor spending of
$204.50 per person from a 2011 state
of Ohio report and the $1.6 billion in
overall spending, Lake Erie Shores &
Islands can estimate a combined visi-
tor total for 2011 of nearly 7.6 million
visitors.
Joan Van Offeren, Executive Direc-
tor of Lake Erie Shores & Islands-East
shared the following reaction to the
report: This data with consistent
year to year methodology, further
proves the signifcant economic im-
pact of our local hospitality industry.

All investments carry risk. But, as an investor, one of
the biggest risks you face is that of not achieving your
long-term goals, such as enjoying a comfortable retire-
ment and remaining fnancially independent throughout
your life. To help reach your objectives, you need to own
a variety of investment vehicles and each carries its
own type of risk.
If you spread your investment dollars among vehicles
that carry different types of risk, you may increase your
chances of owning some investments that do well, even
if, at the same time, you own others that arent. As a
result, you may be able to reduce the overall level of
volatility in your portfolio. (Keep in mind, though, that
diversifcation cant guarantee a proft or protect against
all losses.)
To diversify your risk factors, you frst need to recog-
nize them. Here are some of the most common types of
investment risk:
Market risk This is the type of risk that everyone
thinks about the risk that you could lose principal if
the value of your investment drops and does not recover
before you sell it. All investments are subject to mar-
ket risk. You can help lessen this risk by owning a wide
variety of investments from different industries and even
different countries.
Infation (purchasing power) risk If you own a
fxed-rate investment, such as a Certifcate of Deposit
(CD), that pays an interest rate below the current rate of
infation, you are incurring purchasing power risk. Fixed-
income investments can help provide reliable income
streams, but you also need to consider investments with
growth potential to help work toward your long-term
goals.
Interest-rate risk Bonds and other fxed-income
investments are subject to interest-rate risk. If you own
a bond that pays 4 percent interest, and newly issued
bonds pay 5%, it would be diffcult to sell your bond for
full price. So if you wanted to sell it prior to maturity,
you might have to offer it at a discount to the original
price. However, if you hold your bonds to maturity, you
can expect to receive return of your principal provided
the bond does not default.
Default risk Bonds, along with some more complex
investments, such as options, are subject to default risk.
If a company issues a bond that youve bought and that
company runs into severe fnancial diffculties, or even
goes bankrupt, it may default on its bonds, leaving you
holding the bag. You can help protect against this risk
by sticking with investment-grade bonds those that
receive high ratings from independent rating agencies
such as Standard & Poors or Moodys.
Liquidity risk Some investments, like real estate, are
harder to sell than others. Thus, real estate is considered
more illiquid than many common investments.
Make sure you understand what type of risk is associ-
ated with every investment you own. And try to avoid
overloading your portfolio with too many investments
with the same type of risks. Doing so will not result in a
totally smooth journey through the investment world
but it may help eliminate some of the bumps along the
way.

BY YANEEK SMITH
We all dream of being able to work at a
job that we truly enjoy.
While that is not a reality for many of us,
it is for Oak Harbor native Brandon Hard-
er, a man who truly loves his profession.
Harder, a 2001 graduate of Oak Harbor
High School, currently works for Hendrick
Motorsports as the gas man in the pit crew
for NASCARs best driver, Jimmie John-
son.
It all started fve years ago when Harder,
28, who studied construction manage-
ment at Bowling Green State University
(BGSU), simply decided to pick up and
move to North Carolina with the intention
of fnding a job working on automobiles.
I decided to make a decision and move
south, he said. I didnt know anyone
when I got down here, but i knew it was
something I wanted to do.
Few have the courage to take a risk
like that. Fewer can say they ultimately
achieved their goal.
Harder is part of that select group.
At frst, Harder started working for a late-
model shop working on cars, trucks and
legends. After that company shut down, he
started working at a fabrication shop dur-
ing the day and practiced working on pit
stops during the evening.
Finally, he got a job working at Hendrick
and from there, one thing led to another
as he became a member of Johnsons crew.
Harder notes that his day usually begins
at 6 a.m. with the crew practicing for an
hour before they hit the gym and then the
training feld. Some days, theyll watch
flm from the previous weeks race, study
it and try to improve upon their perfor-
mance. From there, Harder heads over to
the shop where he remains until about 4 or
5 p.m., signaling the end of his work day.
The week is a progression as we lead up
to the fnal practice on Thursday, he said.
Its not your typical 9-to-5 job where you
know when youre going home. If things
need to get done for the weekend, we will
stay until they are fnished. We work hard
every week, day in and day out, always try-
ing to get better and fnd that advantage.
Despite his success, things certainly
havent come easy for Harder.
(Theres been) a lot of sacrifce and hard
work, he said. I have worked my butt off
for everything I have and (it) hasnt been
easy. But that means more to me in the
long run (because) I did it the hard way.
Harders love of cars comes from his fa-
ther, Dan, a well-known area demolition-
derby enthusiast, who works as a supervi-
sor for the Benton Township garage.
I was out in the garage with Dad (for
as long) as I can remember, Harder said.
We were always working on something
and built a lot of demolition derby cars to-
gether. Growing up in that atmosphere has
helped me a lot. I will always will cherish
those times.
I always wanted to learn and still, to this
day, Im always trying to better myself and
learn as much as I can. I believe (that) has
made me more of an asset (to the team).
One thing that has helped Harder get to
where he is today is the support of his fam-
ily, whom he speaks of highly.
I have all the support in the world from
family and friends! he said. My family
sticks behind me no matter what and it
means a lot to me to make them proud. To
me, its not about what I do its just my
job and I do it to the best of my best ability
day in and day out and am happy when I
go to work in the morning. Sure, everyone
has their days, but I am truly happy with
what I am doing and that is hard to come
by.
The other members of the family are
Harders mother, Cheryl, who works for
the Benton-Carroll-Salem (BCS) School
District, and his brother, Brock, 21, who
works as a highway technician for the Ohio
Department of Transportation (ODOT).
One of Harders greatest experiences
working for Johnson (No. 48 Lowes Chev-
rolet) came last month when he and the
rest of the team won the Sprint Pit Crew
Challenge, an incredible honor. The team
(Harder, the gas man; front-tire changer
Dave Collins and carrier R.J. Barnette;
rear-tire changer Calvin Teague and car-
rier Matt Tyrrell; jack man T.J. Ford; and
crew chief Chad Knaus) took part in a
competition that saw them change four
ties, put gas in the automobile and push
the car 40 yards in 22.3 seconds to earn
the frst-place prize. It was especially sweet

The Beacon
With all the warm weather lately and recent storms a lot of
homeowners are spending more time outside. Their mow-
ing lawns, pulling weeds, planting fowers, and spreading
mulch. However, if another necessary chore isnt tackled
too, all that hard work may be ruined. This is the chore that
NOBODY wants to do. Its flthy, frustrating, and extremely
dangerous... its GUTTER CLEANING!!! There is a way
to end gutter cleaning forever and its not by hiring some
handyman to make a mess up there for you. Its also not
a screen from one of the big box stores or some cheap
product from a roofng company. The solution is to call the
professionals and thats where the Gutter Cover Company
can help you.
The Gutter Cover Co. has been specializing in gutter
protection for the past 15 years. Their team will clean,
tighten, re-seal, and properly align your gutters and then
install the best gutter cover on the market, Gutter Top-
per. Manufactured right here in Ohio, Gutter Topper is a
solid aluminum cover that has earned numerous excellent
reviews from the top consumer research companies in
the country. Rigorous product testing showed that Gutter
Topper can handle heavy downpours up to 22 of rain per
hour, 110mph winds, and 300lbs/ft. without failing. When
installed a lifetime transferable warranty ensures that the
gutters will be free-fowing forever. Not even spinners, pine
needles, shingle grit, or seed pods can clog it.
Gutter Topper can be installed over the existing gutters if
theyre in good condition. If theyre not, new gutters are
also available.
The Gutter Cover Company also offers a safe and effective
way to stop big icicles and ice damming. A product called
Heater Cap can be installed with or without Gutter Topper
which gently heats the gutter area with a self-regulated
heat cable. An aluminum plate then covers the cable which
protects it and helps spread the heat to a larger area.
Heater Cap can also be installed on most existing gutter
covers.
This is a product thats designed for people who are tired
of dealing with gutters. Some of our customers have tried
other products from screens and flters to one-piece sys-
tems that require replacing all the gutters and downspouts.
Some are better than others but they all have to be cleaned
at some point. Gutter Topper is the permanent solution to
free fowing gutters, hands down.

considering that the squad had fnished second at last
years competition.
That was a special day for all of us and for me person-
ally (considering) the road Ive traveled, Harder said. It
was even better that I had family in town to share it with.
Our team works so hard and we push ourselves to the
limit everyday to make ourselves better, he continued.
This team is so close at work and away from work. We
have a bond that is hard to fnd on pit road and I think
that is a huge part of our success. I was truly grateful to be
a part of (the victory) and to share it with guys that I call
brothers.
The casual sports fan has certainly heard of Johnson, the
only driver in NASCAR history to win fve consecutive
Sprint Cup Series Championships (2006-10). And while
Johnson, one of the worlds best drivers, deserves the fame
and fortune hes received as
part of his success, it is im-
portant to remember the
unsung heroes, the pit crew,
as well as the entire team
that helps him during the
week and on race day. It is
this group that works dili-
gently behind-the-scenes
to help Johnson prepare for
showtime on Sundays.
Part of the reason the crew
probably works so hard
has to do with the fact that
Johnson, currently ranked
fourth in the Cup Stand-
ings, is a likeable fgure.
Jimmie is awesome to
work for, said Harder. He
isnt like most drivers out
there, hes behind us com-
pletely and (is) always ap-
proachable. I can call or text
him and hes always there
for any of us. Hes like one
of the guys.
That camaraderie extends
throughout the entire team.
Our schedules are tough,
but we try to all get together
when we can and just kick
back. (Jimmie) works out
with us once in awhile when
he has time you dont
fnd that with other drivers
or teams. He is very dedicat-
ed to what he does and truly
has our back just as much as
we have his. I cant describe
how much of a close-knit
team we have from the driv-
er to Chad to the guys in the
shop. But that sets us aside
from any other team and
I believe adds to our suc-
cess. Being with this team
has expectations and we are
expected to do well. We are
such a competitive group
and no matter what we are
doing we want to be the best
at it.
