Integrated Fire and Voice evacuation at the tallest standing structure in Mumbai

Lodha Bellissimo , A land mark project of Lodha group , inspired by Nature and designed by Kiran Kapadia , is the largest residential tower planned in Mumbai at 233 meters vertical elongation and 53 floors . The complex a can properly be called Mumbai's first "garden" skyscraper. Perched on a podium covered in gardens and cascading waterfalls, in a lush 18800 sq m landscaped plot of which 94% of the area is comprised of jungles, gardens, reflecting pools and water fountains including a serene Hindu temple set in the middle of the forest, the aim is to bring the lushness of the Indian jungle to a resort-like residential enviroment. Designing Fire safety for lodha Bellissimo :Growing vertical has its own challenges to fire engineers and designers as not only are the esthetics to be maintained but also proper designing has to be ensured to see that in an untoward event damage to both property and life is minimal . The designing of the entire Electrical package was in the able hands of Mr. Krishna kumar from design bureau a industry veteran with years of experience in this field . The challenges posed to Mr. Krishna kumar were multifold . 1. The fire alarm system being planned should have a integrated voice evacuation system . Reason :- majorly on compatibility issue as two different system always had the perennial problem of handshaking . 2. The Voice evacuation system so planned should be digital in nature and should be as per latest BS and EN standards for life safety . 3. In case of an emergency , a centralized system need to respond and evacuation should be possible in an orderly manner Mr. Krishna kumar selected Ateis integrated fire and voice alarm system for this project . The decision was based on the following features which was offered by Ateis . 1. Modular Fire Alarm panel with integrated Voice Alarm as per BS 5839 part 8 and EN 60849 . 2. Digital sound for clarity . 3. elaborate range of products . 4. world class service . 5. Experience in executing jobs of similar nature .
