DO-IT-YOURSELF WORKSHOP: SOLAR - WIND HYBRID POWER


SYSTEM
TIOŠ High School in ČAKOVEC, 19th January 2008

The non-governmental organizations GNAG – Green Network of Activist Groups from


Vukomerić, and the Society for culture and ecology ‘Kneja’, Čakovec, organize the do-it-
yourself workshop on installing and connecting a small wind – sun hybrid power system.
The workshop will take place on Saturday, the 19th January 2008 in Tehnička,
industrijska i obrtnička škola (Technical, industrial and craft High school -
TIOŠ), Čakovec, Športska 5.

Schedule:
13:00h – 13:45h introduction to sustainable renewable energy
14:00h – snack
14:45h – 17:00h instalation and connection of the wind turbine and photovoltaic pannels
The photovoltaic pannels, the battery and the inverter which will be used in the workshop
are produced in Novigrad, by 'Solaris', and the wind turbine is produced by 'Tehnoelektro'
from Samobor. In this way the project supports and encourage the local production of
renewable energy generators. The hybrid power system will be used in experimental
purpose by students of TIOŠ.

The project „Balkan Ecovillage Network – Sustainability in Practice“ is being implemented with a grant given through the Regional
Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe's SECTOR Programme. This Programme is funded by the Swedish International
Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
Project Sustainability in practice

This workshop is organized as part of the project “Balkan Ecovillage Network –


Sustainability in Practice”. With a serial of workshops, presentations and courses we will
try to help subjects interested in practical sustainable development, with the principles of
lowering pressure on the natural carrying capacity of the Earth. The Project is a result of
collaboration of three non-governmental organizations (NGO’s): Green Network of
Activist Groups from Vukomerić, Croatia, NGO „Kneja“ from Čakovec, Croatia and
„Center for Environment“ from Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Among with the
solar collector workshop, there will be workshops about worm composting and
installation of small wind-solar energy systems. All participants are warmly welcomed;
we invite especially representatives from urban organizations, ecologically aware
corporations, students and associations. Details about the project could be found on
