1. Internship as a SDE at Microsoft India R&D, Hyderabad The 9 months internship program under the Incubation team of Microsoft India Development Center at Hyderabad involved designing and development of several win32 applications/DLLs for their new device which were earlier made for Win CE platform (Confidential data. Can't disclose). The project was built on top of Windows XP using the interfaces from the windows code given. The overall experience fetched me knowledge of how to design and develop huge software using Software Engineering aspects. The project dealt with variety of technologies and platforms and gave me a solid know-how of Software development process. This is a small web based tool used to dynamically plot graphs to monitor the fluctuations in voltages and currents of the distribution transformer that are getting reported through SMS sent by a GSM device.

1. Framework for Universal Remote Control using Mobile Devices The concept is that when a user wants to command their devices such as light switch, a photocopier in an office, a machine tool in a factory, CD-ROM at home, or at almost any other kind of device, the mobile device will send signals to the device demanding a description of its control parameters through IR/Bluetooth signals. Therefore a user can control no. of devices using a single mobile phone. Skills used: Symbian Internals, Java (J2ME) for mobile device, win32/MFC for server, C++ for Symbian, Tools by Nokia 2. Cloud Detection and Removal from Satellite Images This was a course project of Digital Image Processing in which we first detected the clouds from the satellite image and then implemented algorithms to remove the clouds taking some assumptions. The project can be used as a pre processing step before analyzing the satellite images. Duration: Dec 2005 Jan 2005 Skills used: MATLAB, Image processing fundamentals 3. IIIT Jukebox with Telugu, Hindi and English Stations Set a Jukebox server for whole IIIT and built a client application to play the stream directly from the server. Live monitoring of Wireless LAN Tool to live monitor Wireless LAN for the malfunctioning of access points at IIIT Hyderabad. Miscellaneous Projects
Software Plug-ins Developed a plug-in Dll for Windows Media Player using its SDK and Win32 API that adds the global hotkeys support in Windows Media Player. Developed couple of plug-ins for Yahoo Messenger that can send automatic reply if user is away or can set user status from various applications. Also made countdown timer for the same. Simulated a 3D city in OpenGL which can be traversed through by a mouse and keyboard using OpenGL and VC++ just like any 3D game engine. Developed my own shell in Linux.

Designed a comprehensive Cheque Entry Book for multiple users that included searching of previous entries as well as sorting of entries using Data-Grid in Visual Basic 6 using MS-Access.

Made a tool in C# that checks AirDeccan website for the early tickets and buzzes an alarm as soon as they offer tickets every new month as initially the cost is too low. Most of my work is stored in Dynamic Link Libraries (DLLs) so that I can reuse my code later.

Honors, Awards & Achievements

Cleared the first round (3 stages) of Code4Bill programming contest organized by Microsoft on all India level and felicitated by them for being in top 3 % of the 11,000 candidates that participated all over India.

Technical head of the organizing committee of major number of technical events of annual cultural and technical festival Felicity of our institute and designed the website for the same. Figured in the Deans List in academic session 2003-2004. Scored a rank of 3199 in IIT-JEE 2003 Mains out of 1.75 lacs students appeared. Scored a rank of 1301 in AIEEE 2003 out of 3.25 lacs students appeared. Cleared the Senior Level Mathematics Olympiad Contest held by DAMT, Delhi in 2001. Honored by Chief Election Commissioner of India (1995) Shri GVG Krishnamurthy for standing first in the class in the year 1995. Honored by Vice Chief of Army Staff (1996) Lt.Gen Moti Dar (PVSM, AVSM) for standing first in the class in the year 1996.

Interests and Hobbies

My interest includes Swimming, Playing Badminton, Football, and Volleyball. I love to draw and have won many prizes in drawing competitions too. I really love listening good music which relaxes my body. I am passionate about traveling to new places and meeting new people. Other than this I love to drive cars. I also have interests in cooking and trying different recipes when at home.
