System Description
operating system, making this unit the perfect choice for high-end UAV products. The unit is easily adapted to the clients requirements, integrated into UAV systems & flight tested with the client. External user-selectable sensors (including a high end FOG-based IMU) & actuators interface via RS422 / RS485 / RS232 & HDLC busses. Connect two CA-1.4 units together to form a highly redundant system, capable of automatically diagnosing & reconfiguring itself, its sensors & its actuators to use only functional components. Immunity to most single component failures & many multiple failures, provides in a highly reliable avionics & autopilot solution. Interface securely to the avionics with multiple Ground Control Stations through well defined & controlled interface standards. The unit is fully Hardware-In -the-Loop (HIL) Simulation capable & interfaces with S -Planes high-fidelity proprietary real-time HIL environment. The HIL system includes realistic kinematic, aerodynamic, propulsion, environmental (magnetic, gravity, atmospheric, etc.), actuator and sensors models. HIL results are visualized in real-time via a proprietary OpenGL-based environment as well as a Flight Gear interface. Rigorous HIL simulation, testing & training results in reduced risk, fast development & adaptation and simplifies system certification all leading to reduced overall cost.

The CA-1.4 Avionics and Autopilot System

This is a professional avionics & auto-pilot (with automated take-off and landing) system for Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAVs. It is developed according to the principles of DO-178b, Mil-498 & Mil490 standards. The modular & highly reconfigurable VPX-based hardware is available in industrial & DO -254 standards. All software runs on a VxWorks
