assets: - The steel structures - Pre stressed concrete structures. Means for pre-stressing, the controlled application of a mechanical stress to the concrete by tensioning steel tendons. The tendons are made of high resistance and can be constituted by wires, cords or rods. According to the time of the tensioning element with respect to the concrete, the prestressing can be: (a) pre-tensioned reinforcement. The concrete is made after pre-stressing reinforcement and anchored temporarily in fixtures. When the concrete has acquired sufficient strength, are released from their mountings provisional reinforcements and by adhesion, is transferred to the concrete strength previously introduced into the armor. (b) post-tensioned reinforcement. The concrete is made before tensioning the active reinforcement normally housed in conduits or sheaths. When the concrete has gained sufficient strength to proceed and anchor pre-stressing reinforcement.
