TEACHERS LESSON PLAN LEVEL: 7th (English)
UNIT # Unit 7. What happened? UNIT AIMS: To study simple past tense with regular and irregular verbs by developing some reading, listening, writing, vocabulary and grammatical exercises. NUMBER OF LESSONS IN THIS UNIT: 15 NUMBER OF WEEKLY LESSONS: 5 (1 - 5) DATE: Monday, May 14th 2012 LESSON AIMS: Lesson 1: To read a text about Rosa Parks and answer some questions about her. Lesson 2: To introduce regular verbs, their grammatical rules and pronunciation. Lesson 3: To study irregular verbs and their pronunciation. Lesson 4: To develop some grammatical exercises and to listen to a radio quiz. Lesson 5: To explain negative and question form in simple past. ACTIVITIES: RESOURCES: Lesson 1: English notebook 1.) Use teacher's guide to dictate the English book background information, students copy it in Cd their notebooks, check and do the correction Cd - player with them, introduce the new vocabulary if Teacher's guide there are new words for them. Check answers with the whole class. Lesson 2: 1.) Explain that in English, we have two kinds of action verbs: regular and irregular, introduce the regular verbs with their respective rules. Make them copy in their notebooks. 2.) Give them some verbs to change into their past form and form a sentence with them. 3.) Ask them to open their books on page 51 and do activities 2a and 2b, then, check answers with them. 4.) Students open their book on page 65, they

do pronunciation activities a and b, after playing the cd. 5.) Ask students to do activity c and then give them the optional activity to do it in their notebooks. Make sure they understand why they have to pronounce like that. 6.) Check answers with students. Lesson 3: 1.) Introduce the irregular verbs in simple past, compare regular and irregular verbs so they can notice the difference, take some verbs of your own to clarify the difference. 2.) Ask them to copy in their notebooks and then, ask them to open page 73 and introduce the meaning of the verbs that are on that page, ask them to repeat the verbs. Check pronunciation. 3.) Ask students to take five verbs of page 73 and create affirmative sentences with them. 4.) Check students' work. 5.) Ask them to open their books on page 51 and do activities 4a, b and c. Check answers with the class. 6.) Computing activities Lesson 4: 1.) Give them some exercises to do in their notebook, give them some verbs so they write the past form of the verbs. Then, mix the list of verbs with regular and irregular verbs. 2.) Use teacher's guide and dictate them the background information of page 96, do the correction with them. 3.) Ask students to open their books on page 52 and do exercise 5a and b. 4.) Check answers with the class. 5.) Tell students that they have to study the verbs of page 73, next week there will be quizzes about irregular verbs. Lesson 5: 1.) Give students 10 verbs, 5 regular and 5 irregular and ask them to form affirmative sentences. 2.) Check students' work. 3.) Introduce negative form and question form in simple past. Ask students to copy in their notebooks and to give their own examples. 4.) If there is time, ask students to open their books on page 52 and do activities 6a, b, c and d. 5.)
