In Islam the day starts after sunset, now let us see how a Muslim starts his day according to the of the Prophet . The very first thing he or she is supposed to do is to prepare for Maghrib. For this, one has to go to the restroom. Before entering the restroom, one must seek ALLAH s refuge from the Shaitan by saying:
O ALLAH I seek refuge in you from all evils included Shaitan and Jinn (Bukhari and Muslim)

Then enter the restroom with your left foot first. As long as you are in the restroom, you can only remember ALLAH in your heart. Whenever you see your face in the mirror, make the following dua in your heart:

O ALLAH, just as You have made my external features beautiful, make my character beautiful as well (Muslim)

Before making wudu, say Bismillah and use the Miswak (Bukhari). After making wudu, recite the following duas: 1.
I testify that there is no one worthy of worship besides ALLAH. He is all by himself and has no partner and I testify that Muhammad is ALLAHs Messenger.

2.

O ALLAH, make me of those who return to You often in repentance and make me of those who remain clean and pure.

Then exit the restroom with your right foot and recite the following duas: 1. ( O ALLAH), I seek forgiveness and pardon from you (Abu Dawood, Tirmidi & Ibn 2.
All Praise is to ALLAH, who removed the difficulty from me and gave me ease (Abu Dawood, Nisaee & Ibn Majah) Majah)

After that, prepare to go to the masjid for maghrib (The Prophet Muhammad preferred that women pray at home (Abu Dawood), but they should still follow all the rules mentioned below if they go the masjid.) If you are going to wear a jacket, then say Bismillah and put your hand in the right sleeve first. The Prophet used to start different things with his right hand , or from the right side (Bukhari and Muslim). If you are wearing socks, hold them upside down and shake them, and while saying Bismillah wear the right sock first. In the

same way say Bismillah and wear the right shoe first (Bukhari and Muslim). If you comb your hair, say Bismillah and start from the right side. Before leaving for the masjid (or elsewhere), recite:

I depart with ALLAHs name, relying on him. There is no might or power except with ALLAH. (Sahih Al-Tirmidi)

When leaving, say Salam to the people in your home. Then say Bismillah and exit with your left foot. While walking to your car, recite Quran or any Tasbeeh you like, such as the Shahadah, Durood Sharif, Istighfar, etc. When you open the car door and sit down and say Bismillah. When you start the car, say Bismillah again. Before driving recite: )( ()
13. & 14. "Glory to Him who has subjected This to us, and we could never have it (by Our efforts) and Verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return!

While driving to the masjid you can best utilize your time by reciting Quran or any other Tasbeeh as mentioned above. You should always keep your tongue busy in the remembrance of ALLAH whenever and wherever it is possible. For example, while lying down, sitting, walking, driving, cooking, washing, ironing etc. (Surah 3:191) (Surah 33:42) After reaching the masjid, thank ALLAH who helped you reach the masjid safely. Then say Bismillah while leaving and closing the door. As you walk to the masjid, recite Tasbeeh. Before entering the masjid recite Durood Sharif on the Prophet (Ibn Majah) and then make the following dua while entering with your right foot: O Allah open the doors of your mercy for me (Muslim) Take off your left shoe first and offer Salam quietly to the people in prayer hall. If possible, try to sit in the front row but not by disturbing others or jumping over their shoulders. Sit wherever you find a place and keep yourself busy with some tasbeeh. When Athan is called for maghrib prayer, repeat slowly what the

Muathin says in a low voice and when he says and (Come to Salah / Come to Success) reply by saying: ( There is no might or power except with ALLAH .) (Bukhari) After the Athan send Durood Sharif on the Prophet the following dua: (Muslim) and recite

O ALLAH, Owner of this perfect call and Owner of this prayer to be performed, bestow upon Muhammad al-waseelah and al-fadeelah and send him upon a praised platform which you have promised him. Verily, you never fail in Your promise (Bukhari & Muslim)

When the Iqamah for Maghrib is called stay seated, but when the muathin says ( Prayer has been established), stand up and make a straight

line (Muslim) and join the Jamaaah by following the imam and saying .

Then try to have full concentration and to understand what the imam is reciting and also what you recite in Ruku, Sujood, and Juloos (Bukhari and Muslim) Before the end of any prayer (Fard, Sunnah, or Nafl), while sitting after AtTahiyyat and Durood Sharif, recite the following dua:

O ALLAH, I have indeed oppressed my soul excessively and none can forgive sins except you, so please forgive my sins and grant forgiveness out your mercy and be kind to me. Surely, you are the most forgiving, most merciful (Bukhari & Muslim) After Maghrib recite the following:

1. Allah is the greatest [Once, in a low voice (but still out loud)] (Bukhari &

Muslim)
2. I ask ALLAH for forgiveness (3 times quietly)

3.

O ALLAH, you are full of peace and all peace is from you. O possessor of dignity and honor. (Bukhari & Muslim)

4.

None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, He has no partner, His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is Able to do all things. O Allah, there is none who can withhold what you give, and none may give what You have withheld; and the might of the mighty person cannot benefit him against You. (Bukhari & Muslim)

5. O ALLAH, help me remember you, and worship you

in the best manners (Abu Dawood)

Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. (Al-Tirmidi & Al-Nisae)

7. How Pure and Prefect Allah is (33) All Praise is for Allah (33) Allah is the greatest (34) 8. O Allah, save me from the Hell Fire (Bukhari) (7 Times)

2:285 & 286: The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and *so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], "We make no distinction between any of His messengers." And they say: We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination. Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people. (You should also recite these ayaat in the morning and evening (Bukhari & Muslim))

evil creations (Muslim) (3 times)

After that, if you wish you can make a short dua of your choice including the following great dua:
O ALLAH, you are my lord, none has the right to be worshiped except you. You created me and I am Your servant and I abide to your covenant and promise as best I can. I take refuge in you from the evil of which I committed. I acknowledge your favors upon me and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for verily none can forgive sins except you (Bukhari) (Also known as Sayyidul-Istighfar)

This important dua (Istighfar) can be repeated as many times throughout the day as you like to wipe off your sins. After Maghrib, pray 2 rakaat of Sunnah. When you leave the Masjid say Bismillah and wear your right shoe first, then when leaving leave with your left foot and recite the following dua: O ALLAH, I ask for your mercy (Muslim) When returning to your car, follow the same method you followed while coming to the masjid. When you reach home safely (whether it is from the masjid or not), thank ALLAH and recite the following dua: We are returning ones repentant ones, worshipping
ones, and the ones who praise our lord. (Muslim)

Say Bismillah when you open the door to your house, enter with your right foot, and say Salam if someone is at home. Do not sleep before praying Isha (Bukhari & Muslim). When Isha time comes get ready following the same method as Maghrib. After making wudu pray 2 rakaat for tahiyyat-ul-wudu then pray sunnah (2 or 4). Then go to the masjid in the same method as Maghrib. For Isha, it is best to leave a little early. When reaching the masjid, follow the same guidelines as before (pray 2 rakaat, repeat after the Athan, and join the prayer. After Isha recite the following:
7

1. Allah is the greatest (Once in a low voice (but still out loud)) (Bukhari &

Muslim)
2. I ask ALLAH for forgiveness (3 times quietly)

3.

O ALLAH, you are full of peace and all peace is from you. O possessor of dignity and honor. (Bukhari & Muslim)

7. How Pure and Prefect Allah is (33) All Praise is for Allah (33)

Allah is the greatest (34)

Then pray 2 rakaat sunnah. After that, you have a choice for 3 the Witr prayer, either pray in the Masjid or at home. You can also leave it and pray after Tahajjud prayer which is the Sunah of the Prophet .Tahajjud is an extremely important prayer (Bukhari) (Surah 3:113, 25:64, 32:16, 39:9, 51:17-18). It is performed before Fajr time begans. Tahajjud can be from 2 to 8 rakaat + witr. It is prayed in sets of 2. Make sure you pray witr before the time for fajr (or suhoor). If you think you might not wake up for witr, it is better to pray before you go to bed because witr is a very important prayer. It is wajib on every muslim (which comes after fard). If you miss witr, you have to make it up (Qadah). In the 3 rakaat of witr it is sunnah to recite: In the 1st Rakaah, Surah Al-Ala (87) (Abu Dawood), In the 2nd Rakaah, Surah Al-Kafiroon (109) (Nisae), and in the 3rd, Surah Ikhlas (112) (Nisae). After Witr recite the following:
1. I declare ALLAHs purification and ownership of the universe, who is

also holy (3 times) (Nisae)

2. Perfect and holy (He is), Lord of the angels and Jibril
(1 time) (Muslim)

Regardless of whether you pray witr before going to bed or after Tahajjud you must ask ALLAH to help you to get up for Tahajjud every night, and also make arrangements such as an alarm clock or tell someone at home to wake you up for Tahajjud. A Muslim should always ask and seek the help of ALLAH FIRST for any need, anywhere, anytime. After Isha, go to bed, unless you have something important to do (Bukhari and Muslim). It is better to go straight to bed than to waste time chit chatting or watching TV etc. According to a Hadith it is Sunnah to recite Suar Al-Mulk (67) and Surah As-Sajdah (32) before going to bed. It is also sunnah to sleep on the floor. Now before going to bed make wudu

following the same guidelines mentioned before, then dust off your bed with a cloth and while sitting on the bed say: How Pure and Prefect Allah is (33) All Praise is for Allah (33) Allah is the greatest (34) Then raise your hands like you are making dua and recite: (Bukhari and Muslim) 1. Surah Al-Ikhlas (112) 2. Surah Al-Falaq (113) 3. Surah An-Nas (114) After reciting the above Surahs 3 times, blow on your hands and then spread both hands on your body starting with your head, then your face, then spread your hands on the rest of our body as far as you can reach (Bukhari and Muslim). Then lie down on the right side so that your face faces the qiblah and put your right palm under your right check and say: 1. In your name, O ALLAH, I live and die (3 Times) (Bukhari &
Muslim)

3.

O Allah, I submit my soul unto you and I entrust my affair unto you and I turn my face towards you and I totally rely on you in hope and fear of you verily there is no refuge nor safe haven from you except with you I believe in you book which you have revealed and in your prophet whom you have sent

4.
O ALLAH save me from the punishment on the day you gather your servants (3 Times) (Bukhari and Muslim)

5.
O ALLAH, I ask for forgiveness of my sins. There is no god but ALLAH, the ever living, the everlasting, and repent to you. (3 times) (Tirmidi) 6. Any Tasbeeh you like, especially Istighfar such as the greatest istighfar (sayyid-

ul-istighfar) (Page 5). Because we dont know whether we are going to wake up in our sleep or die While sleeping with your wife, if you have intercourse, then recite the following dua before intercourse:
I am having relations in the name of ALLAH. O ALLAH, save us from Shaitan and keep him away from the children you grant us (Bukhari and Muslim)

After that you dont have to make ghusl, just go to the restroom by following the sunnah, clean your private parts, make wudu, and go to bed.

11

However you must make ghusl when you wake up for Tahajjud or Fajr. During your sleep if you unfortunately had a bad dream then say:
I seek refuge in ALLAH from the accursed Shaitan and from the evil of this dream (Bukhari & Muslim)

Then lightly spit to the left (only the lip movements) (Muslim) and go back to the right side and sleep. InshAllah you will not be harmed by this dream. Do not tell the dream to others (Muslim). When you wake up for Tahajjud or Fajr recite the following: )(
190. Verily! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, there are indeed signs for men of understanding. (Bukhari and Muslim)

All Praise to ALLAH, who gave us life after us death and to Him we will be raised and returned (Bukhari and Muslim) (According to the Quran, sleep is a form of death (Surah 6:60))

Then go to the restroom according to the Sunnah. When you come out of the restroom with wudu then recite the duas (Page: 1 & 2), pray 2 rakaat (Tahiyyat-ul-Wudu) and if it is time for Tahajjud, pray 8 rakaat of Tahajjud and then pray Witr (If you didnt already pray at night) (Bukhari & Muslim). When Farj starts, pray 2 rakaat sunnah for Fajr. In the first Rakah recite Surah al-Kafiroon and in the second rakah recite Surah al-Ikhlas (Bukhari & Muslim). Then go to the masjid by following the same method mentioned for Maghrib and Isha. After Fajr say:
1. Allah is the greatest ((Once) in a low voice (but still out loud)) (Bukhari &

How perfect ALLAH is and I praise him by the number of his creation and his pleasure, and by the weight of his throne, and the ink of his words (3 Times) (Bukhari & Muslim)

Then read some Quran in the masjid or at home and when coming back from the masjid follow the same guidelines mentioned earlier. When eating breakfast sit down because it is Sunnah to sit while eating or drinking. Before breakfast wash your hands, say Bismillah, and eat with your right hand (Bukhari and Muslim). If you forget to say Bismillah and remember while eating say: In the name of ALLAH in the beginning and the end (3 Times)
(Bukhari and Muslim)

If you are drinking, then hold the glass in your left hand and touch the bottom of the glass with the top of your right hand and drink. When drinking say Bismillah before each drink and say Alhamdulillah afterwards (Also do not breathe in the vessel (Bukhari & Muslim)). Whenever you drink something (besides Zamzam) sit down and use the same method as above which is sunnah (Muslim). Start eating from the front of your plate using your right hand. When finished clean your plate with your first two fingers and your thumb, as not to waste food. Also do not forget to clean your fingers. After you are completely finished, thank ALLAH who gave you the food and drink and make dua.
Praise be to Allah(swt) Who has fed us, given us drink and made us amongst the Muslims.

Now in preparation to go to work you will need to change your clothes, for this go to a private place. When you take off your shirt, say Bismillah and start by taking off your left sleeve first. When wearing another shirt say Bismillah and start with your right sleeve. When putting on your underwear, pants, socks, and shoes, follow the same method of saying Bismillah and starting from the right. Use the same procedure to leave your house, to go to the car, and drive to work as mentioned before when you dove from home to the masjid for the Maghrib, continue the rest of the day in Islamic way, and perform the rest of the prayers
