ABORTION IN NORTHERN SAMAR Abortion is a hidden problem of Northern Samar. Although, it is a crime, people here are not worried to do this illegal action. Abortion really exists here because of some reason; a reason why that certain people commit abortion. First is poverty, it is the major reason why people commit abortion, most of them are jobless. Second, abortion really happen in far-flung area because of lack of accessibility of information about abortion, most of the resident there are uneducated person, they are not aware about family planning and also it is because of too many abortionists here, they can find it anywhere and everywhere and if they want to ask their help, they can do it secretly. And lastly, lack of knowledge on family planning, people here are not totally oriented on how to avoid unplanned pregnancy. Objectives: This problem is really my focus its because I want to inform the public and awaken there mind about this existing problem. So, in order to provide remedy, this concept paper will try to solve this problem through the following: Create a program (house to house visit) that will help lessen the number of women involved in abortion in at least one month. Awaken the parents that they have responsibility towards their young woman children through the house to house visit that will be conducted. Empower the women to be socially responsible and encourage them to be active community participant through the house to house that will be conducted. Ask help from the LGU-Local Government Unit and Brgy. Officials to make the program possible. Ask support from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and other active women organization. TARGET AUDIENCES:

The program will be conducted in Brgy. Dancalan Bobon, N. Samar. The target audiences will be: Teenager- they should be aware of this because they are more likely practice or exposed on pre-marital sex. They are also more exposed on modern technology (such as, internet) that affect or corrupt there young mind. Marriage woman- I want to encourage them to have a planned pregnancy and also awaken their mind about the side effect of abortion. GRO (pokpok) - also part of my target audience because of the job they have. They are more exposed on sex activities to earn money. We cant blame them because it is their own choice. All we can do is to give them advice and information about abortion.
