BURGLARY - At 1145pm on 15th August offenders attempted to enter a property on Wellington Road South through a first floor window. They made off after being disturbed by the occupier. Please consider the security of your upper windows and location of bins, etc, that may allow offenders access to upper storeys. Between 0130am and 0200am on 14th August burglars were disturbed as they attempted to gain access to a property through a rear window on Bramhall Lane. As the darker nights draw in, please remember that offenders use the darkness to conceal their actions. While the weather is still relatively clement, why not take a moment to check your security lights, fencing and locks? Timers for lights and radios give the impression that the property is occupied. We have a limited number of timer switches in stock reserved for vulnerable people such as elderly people who may live alone. Please contact us if you know anyone who may benefit from one and we can arrange to go round and install it. If you would like an officer to visit and check the security of your property, please contact us. CRIMINAL DAMAGE - At some point between 17th and 20th August a car parked on Stockholm Road was intentionally scratched along one side with a sharp instrument. On 15th August after 1545pm, Stockport Cricket Club had property vandalised by someone spraying graffiti. School Parking - September will see the return of the school run and busier roads. The Neighbourhood Policing Team will be conducting checks around local schools to ensure that vehicles are parked safely and responsibly. Fixed penalty notices that incur fines and penalty points may be used to enforce this action. Please take time to consider where you are parking and if this is putting childrens lives at risk. 100 Fish Fingers - update In our previous newsletter we asked for information about graffiti in the area; 100 Fish Fingers had been written on signs and street furniture. Enquiries are ongoing but the likely source of the vandalism has been identified.
