1. (a) Discuss the electrical characteristics of an Op-amp in detail.


(b) Draw an ideal voltage transfer curve of an Op-amp.

2. (a) In the circuit (figure 2b) it can be shown in that Vo = a1 V1 + a2 V2 + a3 V3 .


Find the values of a1 , a2 , a3 . Also find the value of Vo if
i. R4 is shorted circuited.
ii. R4 is removed.
iii. R1 is shorted circuited.

and explain the operation of the circuit.
(b) Design a second order low pass filter at a high cut off frequency of 1 KHz.

5. (a) Explain the operation of an Op-amp based weighted resistor Digital to Analog
converter through a neat circuit diagram.
(b) Design a 4-bit weighted resistor DAC whose full-scale output voltage is -
10Volts. Assume Rf = 10 KΩ and logic ‘1’ level as + 5volts and logic ‘0’
level as 0 volts. What is the output voltage when the input is 1011.

curve. Explain its working.

i. If the analog I/P voltage is +6.85 V, what will be the R-2R ladder o/p
voltage when the clock stops?
ii. What is the no.of clock pulses that occur between the release of reset and
stopping of the clock?
