Therefore we pledge ourselves through the ideal of shared ministry to build a community where all are welcomed, loved, needed, and appreciated; to celebrate the gift of life together in word and sacrament; and to promote justice, peace and equality for all people. - Our Lady of Victory Mission Statement

O GOD OUR CREATOR, from your provident hand we have received our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. You have called us as your people and given us the right and the duty to worship you, the only true God, and your Son, Jesus Christ. Through the power and working of your Holy Spirit, you call us to live out our faith in the midst of the world, bringing the light and the saving truth of the Gospel to every corner of society. We ask you to bless us in our vigilance for the gift of religious liberty. Give us the strength of mind and heart to readily defend our freedoms when they are threatened; give us courage in making our voices heard on behalf of the rights of your Church and the freedom of conscience of all people of faith. Grant, we pray, O heavenly Father, a clear and united voice to all your sons and daughters gathered in your Church in this decisive hour in the history of our nation, so that, with every trial withstood and every danger overcome for the sake of our children, our grandchildren, and all who come after us this great land will always be one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Parents are expected to send their children regularly to Sunday class and to enroll their children each year in our program until they receive the sacrament of Confirmation. This ongoing faith formation helps to ensure that students will receive sufficient knowledge of their faith in order to receive the sacraments. More importantly, it is our hope that through religious education, students will come to understand the love God has for each of us and how to continue to live their faith.

"EVANGELIZATION, YEAR OF FAITH AND OUR PARISH LIFE: A Conversation on Parish Life hosted by The Catholic Foundation; Thursday, September 27, 2012; 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. 257 E. Broad Street. Monsignor Frank P. Lane presents"Evangelization, Year of Faith and Our Parish Life Blessed Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI have both challenged us to rededicate ourselves to fulfill the Lords command to teach and preach the Gospel with new zeal and energy. They remind us that in order to evangelize our contemporary society, we must confront the unique challenges before us. Among these challenges are the growing secularism of our culture, providing precious little room for God in the lives of growing numbers of persons. There is an alarming disregard for the sanctity of human life, from conception to natural death. Many are growing indifferent and even openly hostile to our Catholic faith. Mass media continues constantly to change, providing traditional catechesis both an opportunity and challenge, as we struggle to make Christ present in the virtual world of the Internet, tweets and blogs. Finally, too many baptized Catholics have chosen to leave the active practice of their faith and by their indifference have impoverished both themselves and the Church. Before these and other challenges, the imperative to preach the Gospel in creative new ways, with clarity and courage, has never been more important. This is the work of the New Evangelization.
