Year 3 Homework Week 5 Term 3 2012

Dear Parents and Caregivers of Year 3 Students, * We are very impressed with the children being so organised and prepared for swimming on Tuesdays, cross country running every day and with preparations for the School Production. We appreciate the support that you are giving your child to become independent with these tasks. *This week is Maths Week in New Zealand. There is a school-wide challenge on Sumdog get on and see if you can win against the rest of the school. * If you get The NZ Herald please send along to school any Olympic photos/news/information, especially if there are Kiwis in action! * Swimming is on every Tuesday. Encourage your child to organise their equipment themselves. Please ensure that they have a good breakfast and have extra packed in their lunchboxes. Swimming is hard work! * Please remember that the Room 17 Library day is Wednesday please make sure Library books are brought back in a book bag every Wednesday. They are still developing fluency and like anything this requires practise! * Basic Facts Please encourage daily practise of both addition & subtraction to 20 and multiplication and division facts. These are essential for ease of learning stage 5 strategies (National Standard for year 3&4). *A BIG THANK YOU to those people who have managed to find some old books and cushions for our new reading programme your donations are VERY gratefully received!!
