Year 3 Homework Week 6 Term 3 2012

Dear Parents and Caregivers of Year 3 Students, * We were all extremely impressed with how well your children participated in the schools cross country race last Thursday. All children tried their very best, which was wonderful to see. * Over the next few weeks your child will be working on writing their speeches. These are to be written at school with no input from home. This ensures an even playing field. Speeches will be sent home to practise when the final copy is complete. You can help at this stage by being an audience for your child so they can learn their speech off by heart. * Swimming continues to be on every Tuesday. Encourage your child to organise their equipment themselves. Please ensure that they have a good breakfast and have extra packed in their lunchboxes. Swimming is hard work! * Please remember that the Room 19 Library day is Wednesday please make sure Library books are brought back in a book bag every Wednesday. They are still developing fluency and like anything this requires practise! * Basic Facts Please encourage daily practise of both addition & subtraction to 20 and multiplication and division facts. These are essential for ease of learning stage 5 strategies (National Standard for year 3&4). Most children should now know their 2x, 5x, 10x tables. This is both multiplying and dividing.
