My dear People, The first Sunday of every September is a personal anniversary for me. It marks a new year in my life as a pastor in Lucknow. It was in 1974 that I was dedicated as pastor by the late Bishop Joseph Lance. 38 years have gone by since then. However, 1974 wasnt the year when I started to preach and write as a Christian communicator. I started doing those things ten years earlier at the age of 15. In 2014 when I retire from my pastoral position, I will go back to being a freelance preacher and writer. Like I said last month, there is something I want to finish before leaving the pastorate. I would like to build a sanctuary-cum-school hall for the Alipur congregation. Please do not let me leave as the pastor who laid a foundation and couldnt finish building. Whatever we have achieved in Grace Bible Church has been because all of you worked together to reach the various targets from time to time. This one too will need your concerted efforts. Please get in touch with family and friends in India and abroad to ask them to help us quickly so that in April 2014 we will be able to do the dedication of the sanctuary. Over the years I have preached several topical series and through several books of the Bible. As my swansong, I now start preaching through the book of Revelation. In Christs love, Kuru

Gregs Dad has had several tumours removed and is in a critical state while recovering. Malini was briefly unwell. Mamta was down with viral, but alright now. Sandy was down with fever and missed attending the 15th anniversary celebration. Bunny is now alright and is looking for work. Stanley doing well after cast was removed from his foot. Gillian was in the winning basketball team and Ishrita in the winning swimming team of the La Martiniere Girls College. Amber Veldt and Abraham DeHart finished their Urdu language studies and returned to their colleges in the US of A. Greg under tremendous pressure meeting work deadlines. Rufus joining work with Ford Motor Co. in Madras.
There is no circumstance, no trouble, no testing, that can ever touch me until, first of all, it has gone past God and past Christ, right through to me. If it has come that far, it has come with a great purpose, which I may not understand at the moment. But I refuse to become panicky, as I lift up my eyes to Him and accept it as coming from the throne of God for some great purpose of blessing to my own heart. Alan Redpath
