INTRODUCTION

Jesus to those Jews which believed in him, if you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed and you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.

John 8v31:32

There has been a lot of misconception about the subject of deliverance whether it is for Christians or not. From the above scripture Jesus was addressing the believing Jews not unbelievers and said to them, except a believer knows the truth, he will remain in bondage. Many believers have been in different kinds of bondage because they have not known the truth about bondage, warfare and liberation. Many have wondered time and again while they have continued to battle with life's problem in spite of the fact they believe in Christ. Some have been grappling with all kinds of problems. The truth is that more than 80% of these people need liberation. FOREWORD

For the years I have known Evangelist Chris Akosa and his family, he has always been a polished, disciplined and stable Christian and Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, who has maintained his integrity in the vineyard and has refused to be corrupted by lucre. His passions for soul and teaching to equip the Saints to live victorious Christian lives have impacted many people in and outside of Nigeria. I have immensely benefited from his ministry in my personal and ministerial life. He is doubtless a prominent voice on the subject of Deliverance in Nigeria. When he speaks, the genuineness and practical experience behind his voice effectively conveys God's principles of healing and deliverance from demonic powers.

The Church is set up by God to continue the work of its Head and Lord, Jesus Chris, whose ministry is teaching, preaching, and healing (Matthew 4:23; 9:35). Many at times, sick people were healed when certain spirits behind the sickness were cast out (Mark 5:1-15; 6:12; Luke 13: 10-16). Even with the upsurge keenness of Christian believers in the area of Deliverance from demonic forces, the subject is still one of the most neglected and misunderstood, and yet much needed, aspects of the Christian life. If the Church however has little light on this subject, there can be no hope that Christians will major and excel in Deliverance. Needless to say that this dimness in the Church depletes its ability and effectiveness to carry out its cut-out function of healing in many cases. Deliverance involves a victim that must be liberated from unseen spiritual forces of darkness, but whose encroachment and untoward impacts are in the victim's life and world. Spiritual warfare against the kingdom of darkness can never be successfully fought except through the name and blood of Jesus Christ, and by the power of His Spirit. Nor can an ill-equipped warrior launch a worthy war against an evil enemy.

Evangelist Akosa's Liberation and Warfare is the 'What ‘and ‘How To' of Deliverance, and no Christian, Minister and non-Minister alike, should fail to read and apply its well-tested and proven principles. How To Pray The Prayer Points In This Book And Get Results

First and foremost, read thoroughly the chapter or the entirebook in order to gain knowledge.

Pray in tongues between twenty to thirty minutes in order to build up your spirit man if you are baptized in the HolyGhost.

Spend additional time as led by God's Spirit, worshipping,thanking and praising Him.

Pray for additional thirty to forty-five minutes using theprayer points.

Declare a fast of 6.00am to 6.00pm once a week prayingthe prayer points.

You may wish to declare daily fasting of seven dayspraying the prayer points.

Hold a vigil from 11.00pm to 3.00am once a week duringthis prayer project. Pray the prayers vigorously andviolently as you are led by the precious Holy Ghost. (Please consider others who may be sleeping).

End all prayer points in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Chapter 1

Meaning of Deliverance

The church experienced what is called the 'Dark Age’ when justification by work was preached instead of grace, before God revealed Himself to Martin Luther that salvation is by God's grace through our Lord Jesus Christ.

After Martin Luther, God chose men like John Wesley, Charles Finney, Jonathan Edwards and others to propagate the gospel of sanctification. The church thought they had arrived; then God again began to use men like Seymour, Smith Wigglesworth, etc. to proclaim the gospel of the baptism of the Holy Ghost with scriptural evidence of speaking in unknown tongues.

Presently, the message of deliverance is gradually becoming popular today in Christian circles. I believe this is due to the renewed interest in God's healing ministry in the church and in the world. Many ministers now believe that except demons or spirits of infirmity are driven out from people's bodies, they cannot receive their healings. In order to be successful in healing ministry, deliverance has to be incorporated.

Benny Hinn once confessed that a positive change took place in his ministry when he followed Reinhard Bonke to South Africa, and saw him command demons of blindness to come out of people's eyes. When this was done, fourteen out of the sixteen blind people received their sight. In our crusade at Ohebedim in Enugu State, apart from other healings and miracles that took place on the crusade ground, a stone-deaf man received his healing in the two ears, when I commanded the spirit of deafness to leave him. Also, a totally blind man received his sight when I commanded the spirit of blindness to leave him.

The greatest force that deals with men is ignorance. The enemy does not want man to be literate. A person who is illiterate cannot read or write, therefore, he would be unable to read the Bible, and thus his rights and privileges in Christ would be denied him. Ignorance is the mother of destruction and the father of experimentation. When you are ignorant, you will walk in darkness trying to experiment with one thing or the other. I read a story about twenty years ago, not just a story but a true story, about a man travelling to USA by ship. This man, after paying for his fare, used the little money he had to buy crackers biscuits. He did not know that as a result of paying his fare, everything about his convenience, comfort, food and sporting activities was accommodated therein. When the fellow passengers went to the dining hall to enjoy delicious meals, this man will be in his room eating crackers biscuit with his water until the twelfth day. By this time, he had emaciated. A young man passing through the front door of this man's room greeted him and asked him why they had not been seeing him in the dinning or for any of the sporting activities. He replied that it was because he had no money to buy the food served in the dining hall. This happened after he offered the young man the cracker biscuit he had been eating for the past twelve days. The young man exclaimed, 'What! Don't you know that having paid your fare, you are entitled to these things? The man replied that he did not know. When this man realized his rights and privileges as a passenger in the ship, he went to the dining hall and ordered for three plates of food, but it was too late as they were bound to reach America in two days' time.

Some Christians have been wrongly taught that deliverance from demonic oppression and torment is meant for unbelievers, but these days, through in-depth knowledge of the word of God and by experience, we know that deliverance is meant for Christians.

It is written But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions. Obadiah 1:17. Unbelievers or nonbelievers do not have access to Mount Zion. It is where believers congregate; it is our dwelling place according to the book of Hebrews Chapter 12 verse 22, But ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels.

God is saying that upon that Mount Zion, there shall be deliverance; there shall be holiness and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions. You may want to ask and know what deliverance means.

WHAT IS DELIVERANCE?

Deliverance is using the name of Christ Jesus to drive out evil spirits that harass, depress, suppress, afflict and contaminate people, families and businesses. It is the expulsion of a bad spirit from a place, person or thing.

I came back from a program only to be told that one of my daughters was lying critically ill in the hospital, I asked them what the matter was with her, and they said it was a heart attack. I was surprised because she was not up to thirty years of age. As I was discussing with her in the hospital, I suddenly realized that she had received an evil arrow. Before the attack, she had mobilized her siblings together with their mother to go for family deliverance in her village; she forgot what I taught them in our fellowship; that after family deliverance they should deal with demonic reinforcement, because the enemy would regroup and attack.

I prayed a short prayer, commanding the evil arrow in her to be withdrawn, and also for the yoke of infirmity in her to be broken. Immediately, she was healed and consequently discharged from the hospital.

Deliverance is the process employed to break an evil chain of wickedness in the life of an individual. So many Christians are bound. They are likened to the ass the Lord wanted to use: but it was tied.

A brother told me that his problem was masturbation, and that he had fasted several times to be free from this bondage, all to no avail. I said to him, Today, you are not fasting but you will be free. I laid my hand on him and broke that chain of darkness and he: was free. Apart from the chain of sin, the devil has succeeded in tying people to the spot of frustration, fear, hopelessness, anti-progressiveness and sickness. You can be free through our lord Jesus Christ.

Deliverance is using the name of the son of God and the anointing of the precious Holy Ghost to destroy every satanic yoke in somebody's life.
