Summary of The White Tiger


Balram Halwai the narrator, the son of a rickshaw puller born in Laxman Garh, Bihar pens down his excruciating struggle filled with poverty, disappointment, labor and dark improvisations in a series of seven letters written over seven consecutive nights. When he starts to reveal his grim secrets about the decisions he made contradicting the societal values and beliefs to carve his own destiny, the base is set for an epic, perception altering journey. About Aarvind Adiga

Anurag Huria Born on 23rd Oct, 1974, Aarvind Adiga is a well know journalist and winner of the Man Booker prize with his first novel, The White Tiger. Aarvind Adiga began his career as a financial journalist interning at the Financial Times. With published works in The Financial Times and Money. He was hired by TIME as the correspondent for South Asia and worked there for 3 years before he decided to freelance and wrote his first novel The White Tiger. Aarvind published his second book Between The Assassinations in 2008 which consisted of 12 short stories. His second Novel Last Man in Tower was published in the UK in 2011. Aarvind Adigas has a detailed and captivating writing style. His writing style portrays traces of Journalism and breaking news effect at the same time. Despite Aarvinds accuracy and promptness within his linguistic abilities, he doesnt lose the sight of his audience and their interest. Born in Madras (Chennai) to Dr. K. Madhava Adiga and Usha Adiga, Aarvind studied at the Canara High School and then at St. Aloysius High School where he completed his SSLC securing the1st rank in the entire state. After he emigrated to Sydney he studied with James Ruse Agricultural College. He studies his English literature at Columbia College, Columbia University in New York and Magdalen College, Oxford.
