Who am I?

Posted by amuntazir on September 1, 2012 US Treasury Departments under secretary David S. Cohen on Thursday issued a list of eight persons related to Kashmiri militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba. According to him Todays action against LET (Lashkar-e-Taiba) is Treasurys most comprehensive to date against this group and includes individuals participating in all aspects of Lashkars operations,. I am surprised to see that my name is also included in the list. Here is my clarification for the sake of setting the record right. 1. I do not endorse or support any kind of violence committed against any person, community, society or state by any person, entity or state. All the political issues and other disputes must be resolved through peaceful negotiations. 2. I was a spokesperson for Jamat-ud-Dawah until 2009. I left the group, and resumed my journalistic career as an expert on security issues and have been sharing my honest opinion with national and international media persons, intellectuals, students, and academicians without any bias towards any person, society, or state. 3. I was never a leader of the group. During my association with the group, my services were limited to media related issues. 4. Putting my name in the list despite knowing that I was no more part of the group may give wrong message to anyone else who wants to dissociate himself from such groups. 5. I never worked as Abdullah Ghaznavi. Actually, a Pakistani journalist carried fake interview of Hafiz Muhammad Saeed when I was spokesperson. I pursued the editors of OutLook (Indian Magazine) and The News (Pakistani Daily) where the fake interview was published. The perpetrator of this fabrication was/is a famous Pakistani journalist who made me an example of his journalistic revenge by publishing a report in Middle East Transparent (an online news portal) that Abdullah Ghaznavi was in fact Abdullah Muntazir. I confess that the journalist won and I lost despite having proofs that he filed a fake interview and that I was never Abdullah Ghaznavi. The dispute with this journalist was one of the reasons that I resumed my professional journalistic career. I would not name the journalist because I do not want to be placed in a next list as Master Mind of 9/11. This is all from me and I hope this will work for all my friends who are looking for my response. My friends can tell me whether I should expect from US that it will correct the list or I shall pay price for criticizing drone attacks. Of course there is no free lunch.
