GOLD HEAT DESIGN STANDARDS

Design standards for Gold Heat electric radiant heat mats for motor coaches are as follows: 91" maximum width. Fabric width is 84; any mat over 84 wide will have one or more low-profile fabric splices to extend fabric width. 5 sq. ft. minimum heated area. 108 sq. ft. maximum heated area for any single mat at 120V. 220" maximum length for any single mat. (Using the full 220" length should be a very rare occurrence because controlling the bathroom heat separately from the living room is strongly recommended. Please consult Aries Engineering for design guidance on large mats). The SunStat floor sensing thermostat includes an integral 5mA GFCI. Each thermostat is rated for 15 amps, allowing it to control 120 square feet of heated area. Larger installations should be split into multiple zones, both to spread thermostat load and to ensure passenger comfort. Nominal power draw is 15 watts/sq. ft., or .125 amps per square foot at 120V. Narrowest heated feature: 4.25". Standard cold lead lengths 6', 10', and 20'. Submit drawings in .dwg or .dxf format. Show floor heat border and cold lead location and length on dedicated layer. Include coach layout including toilet, walls, cabinets, and furniture. Quick Disconnects are no longer available (per CSA standards). At customer request, the mat may include a section of non-heated lead. This lead may be cut and spliced at the customers discretion using any appropriate splice for 16 gage stranded copper and in accordance with established codes and practices. For example, a tiled rear-bath with an engine hatch in the middle of the floor may incorporate a separate heated section for the hatch connected to the main mat body by a 16 length of non-heated lead to facilitate removal for engine service. This product must be installed on a dedicated circuit in accordance with the National Electrical Code.

GOLD HEAT DOCUMENTATION STANDARDS

In designing Gold Heat mats, we need a full scale (model space) coach layout with the heat mat border drawn on a dedicated drawing layer. This shows us where the refrigerator, galley, toilet, shower, and other coach features are. We need this information to do the specifics of the wire layout. Please call out the square footage to facilitate the quoting process and (very important!) the cold lead location, direction, and length. After the detailed design is complete we return a check print to the customer for their review and approval. Check prints are typically returned within three business days. We cannot begin fabrication until the vendor check print has been approved. Please consult the attached sample drawings. Documentation standards for Gold Heat radiant heat mats are as follows: Primary contact for new designs and revisions is design@goldheat.com Send full scale (model space) .dwg or .dxf CAD file. A .pdf file or fax may be attached to the PO or RFQ for reference, but is not sufficient for final design for production heat mat borders on dedicated drawing layer. Show floor plan, cabinets, seats, appliances, and fixtures. Note any floor mounted structure or floor penetrations. Show cold lead location, direction, and length. Standard lengths are 6', 10', and 20'. Call out square footage when known. Call out coach model and floor plan. Call out effective coach number when known. .pdf or fax is acceptable to dictate revisions to existing designs. Please review and approve check prints promptly to protect delivery schedule.
