A Fading Love

For Gwendolyn Poeta Ricardo Saul LaRosa

Freeport, New York 8 September 2012

And I did see you two days ago Like a phantom in the night Wandering through the corridors of my mind It was not a vision Nor was I in my slumber It was you in the living flesh, O my Gwynne ! And I saw you first forty-eight hours ago Like a whisper in my heart

Reminding me the profoundness of my love for you Where did this love go ! Not of my choice For I would have given my life for you, My Gwynne ! And I saw you two moons ago Like the longings of a lonely deserted forsaken soul As I saw in your gloomy eyes; making me sad For you were loved by this passionate poet A love that has no name; beyond compare; My majestic love for you and known by thee, My Gwynne ! And I glanced at you two revolutions on earth ago Like a deranged spirit lost in outer space My Spirit in agonies seeking your Spirit To ask it why not did you struggle for our romance, My Spanish Princess with the olive complexion Caressing every inch of thy sweet, sweet body; my temptation; my sin, O my Gwynne ! And I did glaze upon your extraordinary beautifulness, mi amor Like an angel in celestial realms Searching for her long lost love Who am I, my love ! We did find one another again Upon this starship earth, My Gwynne ! And I beheld your sad eyes as they were looking down Like a new born baby turtle dashing to the sea Running for its life least the birds devour her When you looked up you saw me; O your eyes did burn aglow again for me ! O love doth still dwells in thee for me ! O my Gwynne ! And I savored your sweetness; once again; my love !

Like the endless explosions of a thousand stars Upon my heart for yours and in return for me ! O how I wanted to run towards you To hug you; to kiss you; to take thee away from this world ! I was not further than twelve feet from thee, O my Gwynne ! O my princess, O my forbidden love ! For I had considered our romance A fading love As are the leaves of autumn Planning to invade me with their fall, my demise, And Time awaits for none ! O my princess, O my forbidden love ! Beneath those womanly tantalizingly eyelashes Your dark brown eyes did shine And they shined for me ! There is love, still, in thy glimpse, For me ! For I felt it in my soul; deep, deep inside my Spirit ! For those brief seconds you saw me And that girlish smile of yours upon me, Gave me a renewed hope of love for us ! My darling ! Love of my love ! Life of my life ! O my Gwynne, O how I love thee ! More than humanly words can ever forever express ! ! !
