GOALS OF THIS COURSE: To become active and capable learners that apply mathematical practices reasoning, organizing, representing, and generalizing in problem solving and critical thinking applications. To participate in a collaborative mathematical community and develop a strong voice for my own learning.

Skills Tests
Skills tests will be taken every Friday. You must receive a passing score of 80% or above. Anything below that will be a zero grade. You should retake skills tests as many times as necessary until you get 80% or above. You can only retake a specific skills test once per day. There is a corrections sheet that must be completed in order for you to be able to retake a test. Retakes are done during office hours or a time you schedule with your teacher.

Math Notebooks
We will be working in our math notebooks every day. You are responsible for keeping up with all class activities and making sure your notebook is complete with all of the daily DO NOWs, notes, and all other class work. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to get all the make up work and complete it in your notebooks. Notebooks will be checked on a regular basis. If at any time you are confused, please make sure you ask for help!

Homework
Homework is assigned every day and is worth ten points each. It will be checked at the beginning of the period every day. Homework should be done neatly, and ALL problems must be completed in order to receive full credit. If there is a problem that you dont understand, you must write a question about the problem and why you were having trouble with it. Late homework can be turned in the Friday of the same week for eight points.
