n procaterol hydrochloride (Meptin syrup) is a slightly viscous, clear, colorless liquid. It has an orange odor and sweet taste. pH: 3.5-4.5 Indications: Relief of dyspnea and other symptoms caused by respiratory obstructive disturbance in the following diseasese: bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, and pulmonary emphysema. Dosage and Administration: The usual adult dosage is 10mL of Procaterol hydrochloride (Meptin syrup) (50mcg of procaterol hydrochloride) once before bed or twice (in the morning and before bed) a day by the oral route. The dosage in children 6 years of age or older is 5mL of Procaterol hydrochloride (Meptin syrup) (25 mcg of procaterol hydrochloride) once before bed or twice (in the morning and before bed) a day by the oral route. The dosage in children less than 6 years of age is 0.25mL of procaterol hydrochloride (Meptin syrup (1.25 mcg of procaterol hydrochloride) per kg body weight twice (in the morning and before bed) or three times (in the morning, in the early afternoon, and before bed) a day by the oral route. The dosage may be adjusted according to the patients age and severity of symptoms. BW and Dose 4kg = 1.0mL 6kg = 1.5mL 8kg = 2.0mL 10kg= 2.5mL 12kg = 3.0mL 14kg= 3.5mL 16kg= 4.0mL 18kg= 4.5mL 20kg= 5.0mL *B.W. Body Weight Contraindications: Procaterol hydrochloride (Meptin syrup) is contraindicated to patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any ingredient of this drug.
