With the time of the conference drawing close, we need to have a clear idea as to how far we are with the funding situation and what needs to be covered urgently. As below, when each of you is writing, do well to write in your designated color code so we have some order on here. Sydney: BLACK Samuel: RED Remmy: GREEN Ephrem: PINK Job: BROWN Eric: BLUE Aidah: VIOLET Claire: GREEN Urgent: We need to clarify, accommodation, feeding, transportation, Meeting resources, preconference venue. We need funding for the youth pavilion decoration, printing of advocacy materials and media campaigns(banners, newsletter, website), support for the candle light vigil on World AIDS Day. Southern Africa AIDS Trust has expressed interest in supporting one of the three days of the youth preconference provided we have themes on SRHR of young people. The AU youth program is also interested in funding another day. Ephrem: Please upload the budget on here so we can all see what urgent need are. How far with securing the venue, accommodation etc needed? Thanks for starting the convo. What do you mean by clarifying accommodation etc...? Do u mean we need to find funding or we actually need to book. I am a bit in the dark really on what has been happening thus far. I need Ephrem to respond to this question whether the accommodation has been booked yet. We are looking to use university type accommodation or a youth hostel to reduce cost to the barest minimum Thanks for staring the conversation.We have been trying our level best to find accommodation. But first we need to finalize costing of the activities of the YouthFront. We have the local youth working group established here in Ethiopia by the ICASA Secretarite where we have members from UNICEF and UNFPA. I am hoping that they will fund significant portion of the YouthFront budget. We are trying to find venue for there pre conference and as well accommodation in Addis. However it seems that there will not be adequate venues to host the pre conference as there are a number of pre conferences and other meetings happinng in Addis at that time. For this we have been thinking of moving the pre conference out of Addis to Nazreth (a town 100Km far from Addis). I have attached the draft budget plan for your review. I appreciate your promot comments and suggestions on this. It is going to be quite challenging to have this outside of the city but lets look at the options available. How about the ECA space?

Thanks Ephrem for sharing. it helps put things into perspective. Currently only Ephrem and Sydney have responded. 1. I looked through the Budget and it is fine by me. What is next? Do we have a proposal already which will attach the budget to and send to potential funders? If not do we need to have people working on that? If it is done, can we list potential funders? Who should reach out to them? SAT AU SAFAIDS?? SIDA?? RST for UNAIDS, UNFPA, UNICEF and UNESCO 2. Regarding the venue, if all places are fully booked, then we can move the preconference to another town, I saw buses on the budget, so I reckon we would have to hire buses (thus no major transport costs incurred).
