So, this is a post story for "Daddy's Acceptance".
And this story happens before "Gift".
Once I made up my mind about how Eddi looked, I had no choice of where it would it fall in the time
line.
BTW - I really pushed the...'comfort' level in the first story. Be prepared for anything before you go
looking for it. The second story, is such a 180 from the first. Different direction completely and
completely safe.
And it goes without saying, all stories are gay romance.

Snow Days
By JemGirl

Henry Wallace stood next to the window in his bedroom as he looked through the shaft of light that streamed
in. His gaze rested on the man laying in his bed. Jeffery. He had one pillow balled up under his head as he faced
away from the window so Henry saw the back of his dark blond hair, his shoulders and down his back until it
met the covers.
Henry turned his head to look back out unto his lawn and neighborhood street. He saw the street and he knew
his lawn was there even if it was buried under a new layer of snow. It had been snowing every day that week
and last night didn't disappoint.
He looked towards the center of his snow covered lawn and saw the pole that Eddi had placed there when he
heard of the coming and lingering snow front two days before the first flake fell. It turns out that it's arrival
matched up with some paper his class was given to write. Henry stopped to read it each day when he shoveled
and salted a new path out to the cars and his drive way.
Time to get this over with, he said out loud as he visibly shivered at the thought of the impending cold. He
quietly moved around the room as he got dressed and took his boots with him so he wouldn't wake Jeffery. He
didn't have to be up for another hour and Henry didn't want to wake him up that way.
Henry walked outside and closed the door quietly before he turned around and saw a red headed young man
as he slipped into his son's room. Henry will have a talk with them later. Eddi wasn't suppose to sleep over on
weekdays and Alex knew that. He want down stairs and pulled out a chair from the dinning room table so he
could sit and put his shoes on. He then got his coat from the front closet and opened the front door to see his
snow shovel waiting for him on the small porch. It was propped up next to a half full, fifty pound bag of road
salt.
Henry set about his task in a way that showed he was familiar with the steps by now. First he used the shovel
on the walk way to the street from his porch. Then he came back to cover the snow free walk with salt to keep
the ice at bay. Now he turned his attention to the smaller walkway and car port in front of the garage. One
would think that having a car already parked there would make it easier, but it doesn't. Now you have to worry
about chipping the paint and denting the car while removing the snow.
This part of the task seemed to take just as long, if not longer than the first walk way. But as Henry walked back
into the house, he looked up at the clock hanging in the hall and saw that he had finished it all in under an hour.
He took off his jacket before toeing off his shoes. As he walked further into his home, he smelt eggs being fried.
As he passed through the dinning room and into the kitchen, he saw Alex at the stove as he cooked what he
was smelling. Standing next to him was Eddi as he held a plate ready.
Good morning Eddi, Alex, Henry said as he leaned against the counter between them.

Good morning Mr. Wallace, Eddi said first as he turned towards the older man. He had visibly grown in the
few months they had known each other.
Morning dad, Alex said as he turned around with the frying pan in his hand. Henry watched as he slid the egg
unto the plate that Eddi held up for him.
I thought we discussed Eddi saying over during the week? Henry asked his son.
But today is Friday, Alex said.
Which made yesterday Thursday and last night, Thursday night, Henry calmly pointed out. He looked at Eddi
and saw him quickly blush to the fifth level of red while trying to look at his eggs. I won't tell you why he can't
sleep over, I've already told you, he continued. What I will tell you is that this is the last time. The next time
this happens, the two of you will be taking the bus to school and anywhere else for that matter for two weeks.
Do I make myself clear? he asked both boys.
Yes Sir, Eddi said.
Yes dad, Alex added.
Ok, Henry said before turning towards the stairs. Can you put some coffee on for me please, he calls back
down to the kitchen before he's halfway up the stairs. Thank you, he said a minute later without hearing
anything from Alex. Once he got to the landing he just stood there to hear anything, but mostly that the coffee
pot got turned on.
He didn't seem that mad at us, he heard Eddi say before a tap was turned on to fill the coffee pot.
It doesn't matter, Alex now said. I was prepared for him to be really angry with me, he confessed.
Yet you did it anyway? Eddi asked him.
Of course, Alex said sounding a little surprised. I won't be able to see you all weekend. I had to do it, Henry
heard his son say before he heard the light version of a kiss. Henry felt a little better over knowing why Alex
broke one of the few rules he had for him. He might have even agreed to let Eddi stay the night if they had
asked him. That is another talk for another time. Henry breathed out before taking his next step. You should
put that on so dad can wake up my step-dad, Alex is heard telling Eddi.
Have they picked a date then? Eddi happy asked before the buzz of the coffee maker made it's way upstairs.
Not as far as I know, but I'm practicing, he informed his boyfriend. So what do you want in your eggs? Alex
now asks Eddi before Henry finally moved in the direction of his bedroom. He slowly turned the door knob and
eased the door open before quietly stepping inside and placing his shoes next to the door. His eyes were on
Jeffery as he started across the room towards his bathroom. He turned around in time to keep himself from
walking into the door frame, but he still kicked the empty laundry basket into the bathroom ahead of him
causing it to rattle loudly against the tiled floor.

Huh? Jeffery asked sleepily from his spot on the bed behind Henry's back. Is it time to get up? he continued
as Henry heard the springs as they moved under his weight.
Almost, he confessed as he walked into the next room to get the basket. As he made his way back to the
doorway with it in hand, he saw Jeffery as he slowly swung his feet off the bed and watched as his hair as it
ever so slowly fell downward. Well, most of it fell down. There were still a few strands that stayed asleep in the
bedhead position that hair seemed to adopt on instinct.
I'll help you shovel today, Jeffery informs Henry as he now stands and stretches with a loud yawn. I'll get
dressed quickly, he continues as he pulls open a drawer and start to move faster.
Mmm. You smell like sleep, Henry says as he wraps his arms around Jeffery and stops him from picking
anything out of the dresser. He kisses Jeffery's neck through his hair before he lays his face on the back of his
head. Jeffery just stood there and even leaned back a bit into Henry's hug before a smell caught his attention.
Coffee? Was Jeffery's first question. You already shoveled? Was his second one.
Yeah, about five, ten minutes ago, Henry confessed as he kept his eyes closed and held Jeffery close. He really
wanted to crawl back into bed with him. The coffee, at the moment, didn't have as big a pull on him as it
normally did.
Why didn't you wake me? Jeffery quietly asked as he too enjoyed their closeness.
I didn't want to wake you, Henry started. You came home late yesterday and I can shovel my own drive way,
Henry said with out thinking that last part really through. Jeffery stiffened a bit at how exclusive that statement
sounded, but he knew he shouldn't have expected that to change so soon. He had only been living there, with
them, for four months. It was the best four months of his life. He went to sleep and woke up in Henry's arms.
His car was permanently parked in the garage since he went to work with Henry and when he was lucky he
came back home with him too. But there were times, like last night, when he had to rely on public
transportation to get him home. Once he even got confused about where he lived and was about to look for his
keys when he realized that he didn't live at his old apartment anymore.
Jeffery smiled as he remembered when Henry showed up thirty four minutes later, after an embarrassing
phone call, with a wide smile on his face as he pulled up to the curb.
Can we go back to bed for thirty more minutes? Henry asked breaking into Jeffery's memory. I want to wake
up my boyfriend, Henry continued before rubbing the tip of his noise through Jeffery's hair and down his neck.
Jeffery smiled at the one exclusivity that he didn't mind in the least.
Do we have thirty minutes? Jeffery asked as he entertained the idea.
Fine, fifteen then, Henry amended as he tired to get any amount of time in bed with him to at least try and
pretend to wake up a good way with the man in his arms. He still marveled at the thought. They only dated for
about two months before they moved in together. It was completely logical but then it turned into one of the
best decisions he ever made.

Fifteen minutes won't seem like anytime at all, Jeffery said quietly, almost to himself. By the time we get
comfortable, we will have to get up again, he lamented a little louder as he pushed his drawer closed. He held
Henry's arms before braking them apart and turning around to look at him. Henry reestablished his hold as he
looked into Jeffery's eyes with a slightly sad but pleasant smile on his face. Jeffery smiled back also as he now
held Henry around his waist.
I guess standing like this for a while isn't bad, Henry commented. Jeffery seemed to ignore that statment as
he started to lean forward for a kiss that Henry happily met more than half way.
Mmm, Jeffery quitely moaned before he pulled back a little. Bed is starting to sound like a good idea now,
he conceded before Henry kissed him again to keep that thought going. But, Jeffery said as he started to pull
away again. We should start getting ready, he said. Hazel eyes looked into the depths of shining blue ones.
Fine, Henry agreed as he gave in. We can spend some time scrubbing each other's back, he said with a
smile.
Alex, Stop! sounded throughout the house. Henry and Jeffery stood still and listened for more since the shout
didn't really sound like anyone was hurt or in danger of being harmed. Most of what was said next was mostly
muffled and sounded mumbled, but they did manage to make out the words last night and weekend. Jeffery
looked at Henry with a new expression on his face.
Eddi stayed over, Henry explained. Jeffery's forehead wrinkled. He wondered if he missed a day, but he
couldn't have. They were about to get ready for work. He opened his mouth to say something.
They didn't ask me, Henry said cutting him off sounding a little irritated.
So? Jeffery slowly and quietly prompted.
So I gave him his last warning, he continued. If this happens again they will not see the inside of his car again
for two weeks, he ended as he momentarily looked away. Jeffery had started to make a point of finding out
what rules Henry had set down for Alex, so he wouldn't cause any conflict between them since he was just the
live-in-boyfriend.
Did you ask why? he curiously asked.
No, Henry replied as he shook his head. But I did over hear them. It seems like Eddi won't be around this
weekend, so Alex persuaded him to spend the night.
Oh, was all Jeffery could say. Henry rubbed his back before leaning in and kissing the side of his neck.
How about that shower? he asked him as he stood perfectly still. Jeffery smiled wider before nodding his
head as they both broke the embrace to walk towards the bathroom.
Forty two minutes later Jeffery and Henry were hurrying down the stairs to make sure they got something to
eat before leaving for the day. Their bath went by smoothly enough, it was when it came to getting dressed that
they ran into a few distractions. Jeffery went right to the coffee out of habit more than his need for caffeine. He

poured two cups and turned round to hand one to Henry when he saw him looking at two plates on the
counter that were covered with bowls.
The look on Henry's face made Jeffery walk around to see what he was looking at. Now he saw that they each
had a little folder piece of paper that served as a name tag. One said Dad and the other said Step-Dad. Jeffery
stood there looking at the one that he really believed was meant for him. He didn't think of having kids and he
in no way wanted to replace Alex's mom, but he was moved by the gesture that showed how Alex saw him in
their lives.
As he stood there processing this new feeling and event, he felt Henry's hand as it moved around his waist just
before he felt his body heat through the left side of his suit.
I love you too, Henry whispered into his ear causing Jeffery to turn and look into his honest blue eyes.
I love you, Jeffery told him in return before they kissed and continued to kiss as they heard foot falls as they
came down the steps behind of them.
