The whole community Community Background: The community in Rodriguez, Rizal is a community of people that displays similar problems as other communities which lacks guidance and is not given proper information about health and sanitation. It can be observed that the environment is quite an unhealthful place to live in. Houses are too close to each other and no proper ventilation is available. Proper hygiene is also not practiced. Most kids are observed to undermine the importance of basic hygiene such as taking a bath and brushing their teeth. No proper guidance is also given to them. They are just free to roam and play anywhere. Their skin is usually full of scratches and scabs and their language, actions and manner of speaking is in a way too violent and inappropriate for a child. Problems: Needs: Improper disposal of garbage Population explotion Lack of proper hygiene and sanitation Wide spread of diseases Presence of violence Lack of productivity Misguidance or lack of guidance and parental supervision of children

Proper sanitation within the community through proper disposal of garbage Important reminders and information on achieving proper hygiene A more productive outlet for children Basic medical care

C. The Community Development Plan Matrix

Activities Preparation: The Project was conceptualized after the community was observed. We first ranked the needs of the community and decided which one should be prioritized. We decided that physical and mental health should be prioritized. That's why we centered on health and sanitation and at the same time we also tried to do something with the children's viewpoint in life. Actual Activities: The activities will be implemented with the help of the local government and hopefully through our NSTP fieldworks. Instead of supplemental feeding, we can try to implement these projects instead since it can involve both the cwts and the lts departments. The cwts will be responsible for the actual implementation of the programs while the lts will be responsible for disseminating information and the seminars needed. Time Frame Output Resources/ Materials We used the internet as references and mostly used our memories and general notes and observations about the community We need basic teaching materials, basic hygiene kits and medical kits, microphones and a suitable place to conduct the seminars Cost

It took the us all afternoon after we finished our fieldwork to plan out the projects we want to implement. Our aim is to make this a weekly session of about 10-12 sessions.

We we're able to prioritize what we want for the community and set both short term and long-term goals. By the end of it, we want the community to be more informed about proper health and sanitation.

No expenses were incurred.

Expenses should be kept to a minimal by asking for donations and sponsorship.

Post-implementation Activities: It will be assessed by surveys and in depth observations. Observations whether there is improvement with their health and sanitations will be made. A check-list whether the objectives was completed will be also made.

The evaluation will be done weekly simultaneously with the project to record and monitor progress. The community will also be revisited several months after the project has been implemented.

Hopefully, there would be a long-term effect. The principles taught will be applied.
