FAQ (frequently asked questions) I am a student of Distance Education. Where can I collect my hall tickets?

What should I produce in the examinations hall? A Student who writes examinations at Karaikudi examination centre can collect th e hall ticket from the office of Controller of examinations. Student who has opt ed a centre other than Karaikudi centre can collect the hall ticket from his/her respective examination centre during the two days before the commencement of th e examinations. You have to produce in the examination hall 1) the hall ticket with your photograph duly attested by Controller of Examinati ons 2) the original identity card issued by the D.D.E I am not satisfied with the marks awarded to my answer scripts. What remedy I ha ve? You can apply for revaluation of your answer scripts within fifteen days from th e date of publication of results on the University website and also educational service provider s web site. The request for revaluation should be sent in the prescribed application form. T he application can be downloaded from the University web site. The demand draft for revaluation fee should be drawn in favour of the Registrar, Alagappa Univers ity payable at Karaikudi. You are requested to enclose the copy of the result, d ownloaded from the web site, along with the application form. There is no provision for revaluation of practical papers. Filled in revaluation application form must reach the Controller of Examinations within 15 days from the date of publication of results. The application duly filled in should be sub mitted to the Controller of Examinations only through the Head of the University Department/ Principal of Constituent College/ Affiliated College. Students of D istance Education can send the revaluation application form directly to the offi ce of Controller of Examinations. Incomplete / defective application will be rej ected and the revaluation fee will neither be refunded nor adjusted. There is no provision for revaluation of the answer scripts for which double val uation procedure is followed (example: MPhil). The fee for revaluation is as given below Distance Education Programme Revaluation Fee per paper UG /PG Rs. 400Affiliated Colleges Programme Revaluation Fee per paper UG Rs. 225PG Rs. 400What is Special Supplementary Examination and who are eligible to apply for this examination? Students of University Departments and Affiliated colleges are eligible to apply for this Special Supplementary examination. Special supplementary examination will be conducted at the end of the academic y ear for those students who have successfully completed all papers except one pap er.

The special supplementary examinations will be held immediately after publicatio n of the April Examination results. The examination will be conducted at KARAIKU DI only. Applications should reach the Controller of f the respective college where the students l be collected per candidate as examination upplementary examination of candidate shall es. How to get a Duplicate certificate? The duplicate certificate(s) will be issued to the students on submission of the following 1) Request letter from the candidate 2) A non traceable letter or missing certificate from the Police Station 3) An Affidavit from the Notary public in Rs 20/ stamped paper 4) A photocopy of the original certificate (if available) 5) A demand draft for value of Rs. 275/ How to get Certificate of Genuineness? Genuineness certificate will be issued within two days from the date of receipt of request letter. The request letter should accompany 1) a photocopy of Consolidated mark Statement/Provisional Certificate/Degree/Dip loma certificate of candidate 2) a demand draft for Rs.250/ in case of Government and Government Aided Institu tions and Rs. 1000/ in case of Non Governmental organization and individuals. (D D should be taken in favour of the Registrar, Alagappa University, Karaikudi) How to order for Transcripts? 1) a request letter from the applicant 2) a photocopy of Consolidated mark Statement/Provisional Certificate/Degree/Dip loma certificate of candidate 3) a demand draft for Rs.1000/. in favour of the Registrar, Alagappa University, Karaikudi Transcripts will be issued within two days from the date of receipt o f request letter. I have completed my UG/PG programme through Distance education mode. I did not r eceive my degree certificate and cumulative mark statement. Recently I have chan ged my residential address. How can I get my certificates? Normally, the individual, cumulative mark statements and provisional certificate s are sent to the students within two months from the date of publication of res ults. If you have moved to new residential address, you must inform your new add ress to the Directorate of Distance Education, Alagappa University by paying fee of Rs, 100/. Then only the certificate will be sent to the new address I have received Cumulative Mark Statement and Provisional Certificate but still I have not received my degree certificate. When can I get? The degrees are to be approved by the Chancellor of the University/Governor of T amil Nadu in the Annual Convocation function which will be normally held in Janu ary/February. For instance the degrees of graduates who pass in 2010-2011 will b e approved in Jan/Feb 2012 convocation. Hence the students have to wait until th e convocation is over to receive their degree certificates. I have not received my Application for Examinations.
