Child Care Aware of Washington

Database Developer
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Child Care Aware of Washington is looking for a task-oriented, creative individual to grow and enhance our tools for collecting, storing, and using data to operate and improve our programs. The Database Developer will report directly to the Director of Data and Evaluation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Identifying user requirements for new systems and modifications to existing systems. 2. Designing and developing relational database systems, web-based applications, and reporting functions by utilizing MySQL, SQL Server, and business intelligence/reporting tools such as Crystal Reports, PowerPivot, and/or Tableau. 3. Designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining new and existing MS Accessbased databases. 4. Working with partner organizations to plan and implement data transfers between systems. 5. Providing ad hoc data and reports to staff and partner organizations as needed. 6. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Required:


Knowledge of MySQL and/or Microsoft T-SQL, ability to design databases and manipulate datasets Experience in database design and development Ability to efficiently communicate quantitative and technical information verbally, graphically, and in writing Capacity for independent, resourceful problem-solving and fast learning Ability to set and maintain priorities and to work independently and collaboratively 2+ years combination of related experience, training, and/or higher education

Preferred:
Bachelors degree Experience with spreadsheet modeling Analytical support to coordinate, analyze, and improve data Experience with web design Experience with end user training A passion for nonprofit, mission-driven work

PAY RANGE, HOURS, BENEFITS:


This is a benefit-eligible, part-time position 20 hours per week, with a flexible schedule and up to 20% telecommuting. The salary range of $20,000-$30,000, depending on qualifications, is established by the CCA of WA Salary Range approved by the Board of Trustees.
