Nicolas Berggruen
Nicolas Berggruen is the Chairman of Berggruen Holdings, a private company, which is the direct investment vehicle of The Nicolas Berggruen Charitable Trust. Berggruen Holdings has operations in the U.S., Europe, and Asia, as well as real estate and financial investments globally. The firm and related entities have made well over 100 direct investments during the last 20 years by committing entirely its own capital across diverse industries, both public and private and focusing on building longterm value. Investments are often socially and culturally driven. The Berggruen Group has offices in New York, Berlin, Istanbul, Tel Aviv and Mumbai. Through the Nicolas Berggruen Institute, an independent, non partisan think tank, he encourages the study and design of systems of good governance suited for the 21st century. Mr. Berggruen is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Pacific Council on International Policy. Committed to leaving a legacy of art and architecture, he sits on the boards of the Museum Berggruen, Berlin, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and is a member of the International Councils for the Tate Museum, London and the Museum of Modern Art, New York. He has collaborated on projects with such renowned architects as Richard Meier, Shigeru Ban and David Adjaye. Mr. Berggruen was born in Paris, where he studied at lEcole Alsacienne before attending Le Rosey in Switzerland. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Finance and International Business from New York University in 1981. Prior to Berggruen Holdings, he worked for Bass Brothers Enterprises on the real estate side of this family-held investment firm, as well as for Jacobson and Co., Inc., a leveraged buyout company. In 1988, Mr. Berggruen co-founded the Alpha Group, a hedge fund operation, which was sold to Safra Bank in 2004. He is a member of the Young Presidents Organization and a board member of Promotora 4 De Informaciones, S.A.

India Overview
Berggruen Holdings began investing in India in September 2006 with a committed investment pool of US$ 300 million. Initial investments included start-ups in basic industries, real estate, operating businesses and secondary markets. Investments made in India are diversified and include a green field start-up chain of full-service mid-market hotels; a vocational education institution, a car rental company, an equipment rental company and various real estate development deals across India. Berggruen has also invested in the secondary markets. Berggruen is extremely flexible to be able to invest in various industries; decision making is quick, enabling effective execution. BH Advisors, founded by Kabir Kewalramani, acts as the India Investment Advisor to Sigma Asset Management Company and provides non binding investment related advisory services.

Keys Hotels
Berggruen Hotels was formed in September 2006 and boasts of a strong management team lead by Sanjay Sethi. The top management has a cumulative experience exceeding 100 years. The Company was formed with the intent to build and operate midmarket hotels, resorts and serviced apartments in India and other emerging markets of the world. The Company launched its KEYS brand positioned as Mid-market Hotels in January 2007 and all hotels will be operated under this brand. Modes of development Buying land, building and operating Joint ventures Management contracts Lease arrangements Acquisition of existing hotels The company has acquired 19 sites (18 for Hotels and Resorts and 1 for Serviced Apartments) including 5 management contracts. Out the 14 owned assets, 5 are already operational and 3 in Pune, Kochi and Vizag are due to commence operations in the financial year 2011-12. Construction is under way at 6 more sites in addition to these sites. 5 hotels under management contracts are already operational. The site in Goa is for an upscale resort while the rest will be under the Keys Brand. The Company is pursuing further growth through the management contracts. Car Club
Car Club launched its services in September 2007 and is led by SP Balasubramanian and is supported by Indias most experienced team in the business. Car Club is focused on providing corporate car rental services to various corporates across India. The Companys mission is to build a technology driven, nationally networked car rental company to deliver consistent high quality car rental services to its customers. The Company has more than 700 corporate clients and is growing aggressively. Car Clubs chauffeur and self-drive services are currently available in 13 cities including Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, New Delhi, Kolkata, Gurgaon, Noida, Ahmedabad, Mysore & Coimbatore and will soon expand to more cities. Car Club operates 1,300 cars ranging from the Economy to the Super Luxury range and includes the makes of Tata, Ford, Hyundai, Honda, Toyota, Chevrolet, Mercedes, BMW, etc. The fleet size is expected to reach 2,000 cars by the year end. www.drivecarclub.com

UEI Global
UEI Global was founded in 2007, and offers Degree and vocational education in various sectors in India. The Company has an experienced management team, led by Manish Khanna. He was the founding member of the Company and served as the erstwhile CFO of the Company. The Company currently runs 17 academies across India. The Company started in the hospitality space, with accreditation & validation from the Hotelschool The Hague, The Netherlands. It has subsequently tied up with highly reputed Indian Universities whose Degrees it offers to its students. Sanjay Sethi
Sanjay is a hotel management graduate from IHM Pusa and has spent 23 years in the hospitality industry. He is a Certified Hotel Administrator from the American Hotel Association. He has over the years acquired new knowledge through mediums like Cornell, XLRI and TMPT. During his 14 year tenure with the Taj Group, he served as an assessor of Tata group companies through a model based on the Malcolm Baldridge method of business management. Having worked across Tier I and Tier II cities of India, he prides himself in having deep knowledge of the markets and employee and guest sensitivities across the country.

In August of 2006, Sanjay quit a senior position at the Taj Group of hotels to set up Berggruen Hotels (BH) in partnership with Berggruen Holdings, New York. He has personally hand picked the senior management team at BH to partner him in building out the business. Sanjay is a hard core hotel operations person and has along the years gained competencies in finance, marketing, design and development.

Partha Chatterjee
Partha comes with an experience of over three decades, primarily with the Tata Group and Taj Hotels where he has been involved in setting up and re-branding of its hotels in New Delhi, Kolkata, Lucknow and in Mumbai. Recently, Partha has played a pivotal role in the re-branding exercise and launch of Ginger Hotels, the budget brand under the Taj stable. Parthas strength lies in the field of marketing and launching of new brands and hotels and in his networking capabilities with industry business providers like travel companies and corporate houses.
