Belgium Special Report August 18, 2012 From: Luk Brazle Sent: Sat, August 18, 2012 1:43:00

AM Subject: 5 P's from Luk & Holly Brazle in Belgium - August 2012 Our August 2012 installment of our 5 P's report from the work in Ghent, Belgium and surroundings. Feel free to forward this to anyone you like. The more people praying the better. If I need to add anyone to this mail-out please let me know. If you need me to explain or elaborate on anything just ask. The purpose of this e-mail is to keep you up to date on our work, and life in Belgium. Our once-every-two-month newsletters don't always share the bad news of mission work, so this e-mail is meant to share the good, the bad and the ugly with you so that you can be in prayer with us about these things. You can always check out our blog which includes current info about work and personal life. Thanks for your continued care, support and prayers. - Luk, Holly, Gideon (6) and Isaak (4) www.belgianbreeze.blogspot.com http://www.flickr.com/photos/belgianbreeze/ PRAYER NEEDS: - Follow Up! We had great campaigns come through this summer. 25 people came to English classes using the New Testament as reading material for 6 weeks, and a youth group from Ohio came and discussed questions from the Bible with 8 young teens from our neighborhood. Pray that we can keep in touch with these contacts as we approach them to continue the classes in September. - Being camp director and cook at a week of Bible camp for the 15yrs. and older camp it was apparent from our discussions with the young people that they are having a hard time with their faith, a Christian lifestyle and doubts in a dark world. Pray for their courage, faith, and that they can make good decisions. - During family camp I taught 4 lessons from Revelation on Encouragement and warnings. I challenged the people at Family camp to take the encouragement and warnings (From Revelation chapters 1-3) back to their home churches. Pray that they carry through with this challenge. - This past weekend we hosted a neighborhood BBQ with 20 people in attendance. We had great visits, and some talks centered around faith, and great questions. Thank God for the opportunities, and pray for seeds planted. - It is clear that marriages are under attack. Pray for some couples we know who are having hard times. God shows what true love is like, but putting that kind of love into practice is not always easy. Pray that we can know what the appropriate thing to say is, and how to help in these situations. - Our regular Bible Studies with individuals are on hold for now due to summer activities. Pray that the Bible study contacts continue to pray and be encouraged in their faith. Those studies will restart in September.

PHYSICAL NEEDS: - I got a question this month to send an overview of what our needs are for this coming year, and I had to write back that we are fully supported, so as long as people keep giving as they have been we have no extra needs. What a blessing! - Health has been good. This summer has worn us out as we have had a lot of activities, weeks at camp, and visitors coming through, but now summer is coming to a close things are slowing down. So that is a blessing. Pray that we can get back into a normal routine soon. - Our camera broke at the beginning of camp, but we were able to purchase the same one on sale during sales month. We hadn't realized how much we use the camera until it was gone. We hope that the pictures we post give a little of an idea of what our life and work is like in Belgium. PROGRESS: - Getting to lead the 15+Yrs. camp week this summer was a blessing. I missed teaching, but the interaction and visits with the teens and young adults are so important, and great teaching moments. - Regular kids classes on Sunday night. - Preaching and teaching at church in Ghent, as well as Brugge and Brussels. - Building relationships with new contacts through Let's Start Talking campaign. - Weekly conversations with young family we help with food packets, and work on getting the wife a job so they can get out of debt. - Teaching 4 lessons out of revelation helped me learn from God's word, and helped me challenge the people at family camp to take Christ's encouragement and warnings to the early churches to heart. - A young man named Daniel who has been living in a tent in our yard for the past month, has found a job, and is making some money again. This is an answer to prayer, and we are looking forward to a new opportunity for him to find his own place. We see this as a part of our ministry, and feel that God has blessed us with the space so we need to use it. PROBLEMS: - Pray that I manage time well. - Our Bible camp is going through some growing pains. I am not on the steering committee for the Bible Camp but I am involved with discussions on how to organize, care for, and decide what policy is for the Camp. Pray for these discussions as many things need to be decided to help things run smoothly. - Knowing where to help, and where to say no tends to be a constant struggle. Pray for wisdom. PEOPLE we are meeting, encouraging and influencing for Christ: - Let's Start Talking contacts: Thomas, Melissa, Jung Jui, Jenny, ... - Ghent church: Pieter, Daniel, Evelien, Roland, Shareya, Patrick, Sonia, Mathias, David, Prisca,... - Our Ghent Bible Study Contacts: Herman, Zakia, Chris.
