A Note to you, -Remember in prayer and please attend our Association Revivals in October. They are as follows: October 1-5 at Central Baptist Church in Winchester, pastors from the Mt. Sterling area will be preaching each night at 7PM. October 22-26 at Jeffersonville Baptist Church in Jeffersonville, pastors from the Irvine area will be preaching each night at 7PM. -The Semi-Annual meeting for the association is October 8 at Spears Mill Baptist Church in Paris. The first session in from 5-6Pm, Eat 6-7PM and final session starts at 7PM. Food For Thought: From the book, Men for Nations: "It was in 1904. ALL WALES WAS AFLAME. The nation had drifted far from God. Spiritual conditions were low indeed. Church attendance was poor, and sin abounded on every side, Suddenly, like an unexpected tornado, THE SPIRIT OF GOD swept over the land. The churches were filled to capacity; the meetings ran day and night. ... Prayer, testimony, and singing would sweep over the congregation in torrents, and hundreds of souls would surrender to God Indescribable scenes took place; nothing had ever come to Wales with such far-reaching results. Everywhere THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD was felt: in the street, in the stores, in the trains. Infidels were converted, drunkards, thieves, and gamblers were saved, and thousands were reclaimed to respectability. Confessions of awful sins were heard on every side. Old debts were paid. Theaters and saloons closed for lack of patronage. Police courts were idle. In five weeks twenty thousand conversions were recorded. Another writer states that within ninety days there were 150,000 conversions. The Welsh revival was a Divine visitation, in which God said, See what I can do without the things you are depending on? See what I can do with the simplest who are ready to fall in line and depend wholly upon Me? See what I can do in answer to praying people." Do you want a Revival? God gave the recipe in Ezekiel 14:6 Thus says the Lord GOD, Repent and turn away from your idols, and turn your faces away from all your abominations." God tells us three things we are to do to have revival: 1. Repent of our sins, 2. Turn away from our idols and 3. Turn our faces away from all our abominations. To Repent is to see our sins in the way God sees them, to understand how disgusting they are in His eyes and then turning from the sins and not continuing to commit them. Turning from the idols in our lives is recognizing things or people we have placed ahead of God and turning from them and placing God first in our life. Turning from all our abominations is to stop doing the things that God hates, despises and considers an abomination. The Bible lists many things that God hates and considers abominations. To name a few among them are: cheating others (Micah 6:10), a proud look and a lying tongue (Prov. 6:17), adultery and breaking vows (Ezek. 18:3-13), a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, (Prov. 6:18) one who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just (Prov. 17:15), and one who causes divisions among brethren (Prov. 6:19) We can have a revival if we are willing to pay the price for revival.

NEWS & UPCOMING EVENTS from the Association and our CHURCHES CAMP REPORT We need help as the camp season is closed. EX. BOARD REPORT The Mtg. was held at Calvary BC. Had 19 churches present with 77 total attending. The replacement of the roof on the Chapel and the furnace in the office was voted and approved. ALLANSVILLE No Report BEECH GROVE Fall Festival and Old Fashion Day Oct. 20th-4-8 PM BOONES CREEK We will have a Community Christmas Fellowship and Musical on Sun. Dec. 9th. We will meet at our neighbor church, Athens Christian at 4:30 pm for a potluck fellowship meal then move to Boones Creek for a Musical at 7pm. CALVARY Celebrated Homecoming w/147 in attendance, our Youth did a prayer walk through the neighborhood and participated in the Drug Recovery March. We hosted the Sept. Ex. Bd. Mtg. We are hosting the Estill County Association Revival and will once again serve as the Estill Count collection site for Operation Christmas Child. CENTRAL- Associational Revival at Central Oct. 1-5. Sunday Oct. 28th Dr. Shane Garrison-Childrens Emphasis. Wed. Oct 31st-Trunk and Treat at Central. CLAY CITY We had a good Revival with Bro. Freddy Helton. Planning a Fall Festival Oct. 6th. CORINTH No Report COW CREEK Celebrated Homecoming on Aug. 26th, good food and good fellowship. EPHESUS New Sunday School year has begun with all classes using the Gospel Project curriculum. Backpack feeding ministry had restarted at Pilot View Elementary. Eliza Broadus Offering goal is $1,200 ($10 per county). Fall festival planned for Oct. 6 including games, bounce house, face painting, chili cookoff, trunk or treat, and a bonfire. Harvest Day for Sunday School high attendance is Oct. 7. EMMANUEL No Report FAITH We were revived as Christians in our revival with each Speaker that came and praying Christians will continue to be revived. Youth Sunday Morning was so wonderful for our 2 youth. Homecoming Sept. 16th Gideon Speaker on Sept. 30th. FRIENDSHIP Church van up and running and really enjoying it. The past Sunday School year we had 3 with perfect attendance. Wed. night womens group has been going to the Nursing Home for Bible Study. Nov. 4th is our 60th Anniversary/ Homecoming, still making plans. The event had Designated it Virginia Smith Day who is one of the original Founders. Planning a Fish Fry Sept. 29th at the Church. GREENBRIAR Children are learning bible verses & reciting at Morning Worship Service. Birthdays: Josh Wilson, Clay Eaton Lisa Bicknell, Katareena Smith, Mildred Richardson. Anniversary: Kenneth & Arlene Chaney. HEIDELBERG No Report HERITAGE What a wonderful joy to see God at work in the lives of His people at Heritage. Heritage sponsored a School Supply Giveaway which was a huge success. We helped 50 kids and make contact with 38 families. We have added 5 new members to our church roll over the past 2 months, and we are awaiting to have our tenth baptism in just a couple of Sundays. Our community garden was a huge success. We supplied 100+ gallons of green beans, 100+ gallons of tomatoes, with many potatoes, cabbages, green peppers and too many zucchini and summer squash to count. God blesses, and it is His faithful who receive the joy of His reward. Heritage is on the move because God is moving through His people at Heritage. Thank you Jesus for the blessings! Bro. Timothy Christopher HOWARDS MILL Church family held a dinner for Chris Roland Aug. 19th who will be going away on active duty in the Army Sept. 1st. Chris will be going to Africa and from there God only knows. Be sure and pray for Chris while he is away. Also for Alexander (his wife) who will be staying in Mt. Sterling. Chris and Alex are expecting their first baby in Dec. IRVINE FIRST 5th Quarter was well attended by both Middle School & High School following the first ECHS football game. Youth won Paint Ball Tourney in Ravenna. Group attended Faith Day-Mercy Me Concert and Cincinnati Reds baseball game. Delicious Meat Loaf meal-Steve Baber made the meat loaf. He is our church chef. IVORY HILL No Report JEFFERSONVILLE Met back to school needs for several Children in the Church (school supplies/clothing & shoes). Began Nursing Home Ministry. Women worked several days in Aug. cleaning throughout the Church and preparing for our Homecoming. Men installed new lighting in Fellowship Hall. Did some very much needed repairs to the building. Had 5 professions of faith. There were 16 members/choir went to the Hymn Sing at Reid Village B.C. on Aug. 30, had a wonderful time. Sept. 9, 2012, Annual Homecoming Service, with Rev. Scott Rogers bringing the message and New Found Four Singers. Dinner will be served for all in attendance. See you in Sunday School and Worship. God Bless you all! KIDDVILLE-No Report MACEDONIA The men had a great time at Promise Keepers. The WMU women felt blessed when they gave our children school supplies and clothing. The children presented a program on Aug. 19th. Our Miles of Pennies Program had grown to over 40,00 pennies. The singing group, Mountain Joy, will bring the message in song on Sept. 9th. We are starting a Bible study on the Book of James on Wed. Nights. MEANS Took the Childrens group to the Louisville Zoo. Began plans for Homecoming and the Fall Carnival. MT. OLIVE-No Report NEW COVENANT REFORMED-No Report NEW HOPE-Enjoying using our new song books. Revival in Nov. NORTHSIDE 20 attended the Chad Service at Allansville on Sun. the 5th. Then on the 22nd all our youth and several adults enjoyed the Collide Service at GRC. Several made decisions. 24 went to the Fall Hymn Sing at Providence (Clark). Our Choir did an excellent job. We welcome 4 to our church family by letters. We are praying for our Revival in Oct. and looking forward to our Cottage Prayer Meetings. PANOLA Sept. 30th 200th Celebration beginning at 10:30 AM. Everyone welcome. POWELLS VALLEY Meal Ministry on Aug. 25th, serving approx. 200. Collected School supplies for Sunrise Childrens Services in Elizabethtown. Choir sang at the Reid Village Hymn Sing. PROVIDENCE, CLARK Hosted Assoc. Fall Hymn Sing, great crowd, music and fellowship. Octoberfest Sat. Oct. 13th 12:00-6:00 PM, speakers, special music, food, games Etc. Everyone welcome. PROVIDENCE, ESTILL Held a back to school night on Aug. 1st, we helped over 130 kids with back to school supplies, had a picnic and inflatable for the kids, love seeing the kids so excited. The men are planning a retreat to South Carolina in Sept., pray they came back refreshed, revived and maybe catch a few fish. Homecoming is scheduled for Sept. 30th with dinner after the service. Youth planning a trip to Salato Wildlife in Sept. Plans underway for our annual fall festival in Oct. We should always come to church expecting a blessing and excited about what the Lord had in store for us. Our pastor has been with us a year in Sept. and we are so thankful for the Lord sending him our way, good things are happening at Providence and for that we are so thankful. REID VILLAGE We hosted the Mt. Sterling Assn. Fall Hymn Sing on Aug. 30th and had 125 in attendance. The youth had a swimming party and cookout. The children in Kids Worship went swimming at the Downtown Athletic Club. We delivered school supplies and personal items to the Dessie Scott Childrens Center collected from the CIA sponsored Christmas in August. The WMU delivered goodies to the various organizations who serve our community in memory of 9/11 and in recognition of their service. Two of our beloved church members went to be with the Lord. Rose Stull, who was a charter member, passed away Aug. 26th at the age of 100. Alvin Warner, a dedicated member since 1975, passed away on Sept. 4th. Our goal for Eliza Broadus offering is $500.00. A group of about 17 CIA children and workers will be attending the CIA Day Camp Block Party at the Highland Baptist Church in Shelbyville, KY on Sept. 22nd. Our WMU is hosting a World Craft Jewelry party on Sat. Sept. 29th. We will have a 5th Sunday Hymn Sing on Sun. Sept 30th. Everyone is welcome to attend. Continued on Back Page

NEWS & UPCOMING EVENTS from the Association and our CHURCHES (Continued) REID VILLAGE-There will be a fundraiser for Covenant Friendship Ministries on Sat. Oct. 6th at Two Sisters Pumpkin Patch from 10 am 6pm. The youth will go cosmic bowling on Fri. night Oct 26th from 11pm-1am. Our fall revival will begin on Sun. Oct. 28th and continue through Fri. Nov. 2nd at 7pm nightly. Bro. Gary McCammon will be our guest evangelist. SALEM Hosted the Fall Hymn Sing for the Irvine Area, had 146 in attendance. Ann Liza Tipton was honored on the 90th Birthday with a baseball theme party given by her children at the church. Ann got to reunite with her 8th grade teacher who was 98. SPEARS MILL The choir enjoyed the Hymn Sing hosted by Reid Village Baptist Church and the fellowship that followed. The Senior trip Aug. 23rd to Campbellsville visiting our retired pastor and wife, JT and Sue Rafferty was enjoyed by all 15 members that were able to make to trip. Our Junior Church Worship so going great with 8 salvations. Praise the Lord to Bro. Fred and Diana Corrett for leading the Service. Bro Barry officiated the wedding of Bro. Ben Gnau & Leah Jones Aug. 25th. Our congratulations goes out to Ben And Leah and their future together. The Sunrise Children Home offering was $481.60. Our youth attendance continues to grow on Wed. and Sunday with an average of 24. What a blessing! Many of these rides the van to church. Sept. 29th @ 10am Spears Mill WMU will be hosting an Association World Craft party, with articles from all over the world. Purchasing these crafts will help support the people that are trapped in hard situation. Senior Day trip Sept. 20th to Cumberland Falls is planned. We continue to count items for Christmas Shoe Boxes. Bless each and everyone. Love and prayers from Spears Mill. SPRING STREET 60th Anniversary, 4 day revival was very successful had lots of commitments and felt the Holy Spirit worked tremendous, closed with a luncheon. Awoke Monday morning 27th with a sad occasion of the passing of Pastor Runyons daughter Becky. Pastor John and Phyllis are doing better than expected, continue to pray for them. THOMAS Kelly Thomas & Duane Winnett were married on Aug. 25th, a household shower is planned for the couple Sept. 16th. Homecoming Oct. 28th. VALLEY VIEW No Report WM. MEMORIAL Began youth meetings on Sunday evening. Had a back to school block party the first of the month. Enjoyed the Hymn Sing at Salem. New Beginnings Pregnancy Center in Winchester has an ongoing need for baby wipes, diapers (sizes 4, 5, 6) and formula (Good Start in green and orange cans), as well as continued financial support. Churches are encouraged to support local Pregnancy Centers in honor of Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, Jan. 16, as well as throughout the year. Don Spencer (Director of KBC Church Financial Benefits Department) will be in our Association Oct. 15, 2012. The Story Lives On:

Womans Missionary Union will be 125 years old in May, 2013. The Story Lives On will be the emphasis for the next two years. What is the story of mission education and mission involvement in your church in the past 125 years? If you would like to continue that story or start a new story of mission education and need help, please call me at 859-842-0785 or 859-595-0394. Bold Hope is the 2012 State Missions Emphasis encouraging Kentucky Baptist to pray, give and to go with boldness. If you have not ordered your envelopes, posters and prayer guides from Kentucky WMU you can still do so by calling Kentucky WMU at 1-866-489-3534 or online at www.kywmu.org/ebo. If you would like to go on a mission trip this year, please let the association know at 859-744-0037 and they will let the WMU or Mission Development team know. The Eliza Broadus Offering provided $1,000 to our association this year so each camper could be given a Bible when the attended our camp. There will be three World Crafts Parties in September. Friendship will host the Irvine area churches on September 27, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Spears Mill will host the Winchester area churches Saturday, September 29 at 10:00 a.m. The Mt. Sterling area will be hosted by Reid Village at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday September 29th. Everyone is invited to learn more about missions and order handmade products that are created by artisans from around the world. The missionaries use the cottage crafts as an opportunity to reach the lost and also to help artisans with much needed income. Please plan to bring a group with your church. Twyla Sheffield

FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS 8 THRIFT STORE DONATIONS 3,621 MONETARY DONATIONS 29 Many thanks to the Welded Construction Company for a $10,000 donation to the food pantry. This was very timely, as we had spent over $7,000 on groceries this month alone! If your church or group would collect food for our pantry, it would fill an increasing need for groceries. The number of families requesting food is increasing as well as the cost of this food at the grocery. Gods Pantry has been out of commodities for the emergency food pantry program for the past two months. Basically, we are paying shelf price for all the food we give away.
