In the history of its landmark achievements, Fagioli PSC India completes 50th Boiler drum lifting project

Mumbai, Monday, - January 2009, Fagioli PSC India Pvt Limited, a JV between the Gemini Group and Fagioli SpA and Fagioli Limited, UK specialising in worldwide heavy lifting and transportation services for the civil, offshore, power and petrochemical industries, has today announced the successful and safe completion of its 50th Boiler drum lifting project for JSW Energy Ltd at the 4 X 300 MW Coal Based Thermal Power Plant, Jaigad in Ratnagiri. Lifting of Boiler Drum in a Thermal Power Plant is the first important milestone activity in the construction of Thermal Power Plant. Prior to the pioneering introduction of Strand Jacks by Fagioli PSC India for such heavy lifts, boiler drums were lifted with Winches now considered unsafe and enormously time consuming with respect to international safety standards being adopted at most power plant construction sites. With the completion of this 50th project, Fagioli PSC India has lifted a total weightage of 9,890 in tonnes which is a landmark achievement as per industry standards. Having heavy lifted the 50th boiler drum this week, Fagioli PSC India average one drum lift every month, with modest beginnings in late 2004, now commanding lions share in this domain. Fagioli PSC India Boiler Drum lifting is accomplished with a minimum setup time and the firm specialises in vertical lifts, inclined lifts and lifts involving complex combinations of vertical and inclined lifting with lateral shifting. Apart from Boiler Drum lifts, Fagioli PSC India specialise in Heavy Lifting of Generators and have so far lifted 18 generators for various private and government owned Power Plants, notable among them were three Generators lifted in succession for the power behemoth NTPC at their Kahalgaon, Bihar project. Each Generator weighed 275 metric tonnes and had to be unloaded from the railway wagon, lifted, rotated and then placed on a foundation 17 metres from ground level.
