A STUDY OF JOB SATISFACTION AND SCHOOL ORGANISATIONAL CLIMATE AMONG SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS. Dr.

Nasreen Qusar Assistant Professor in Education, DDE University of Jammu, Jammu.

Job Satisfaction is an important factor which effect one's work efficiency. Thus it is very important for the success of teachers. A person who is satisfied with his/her work is better than those not satisfied. Job Satisfaction is duly accepted as a Psychological aspect of functioning in any profession. The credit of bringing this term into currency goes to Hoppock (1935). He reviewed a title over 30 contemporary studies and concluded that though there was much opinion about job satisfaction, yet there was not much factual work done in the field. The word satisfaction of teachers refers to how contended or well pleased they feel about their work to the circumstances surrounding their work.

Organisational climate is an aspect of organisation's total environment, a characteristic that gives a unique quality to the environment. Hence, quite often the term "environment" has been used in place of "climate". "Psychological Environment" is considered more often an identical term for "Organisational Climate". Thus a number of terms such as "Atmosphere", "Climate", "Psychological Environment", "Social Interaction", "InterPersonal Relationships", "Social Emotional Climate", etc. have been used in the literature interchangeably to roughly point out the same thing. It is not, therefore, easy to define and explain what exactly "Organisational Climate" signifies. B. 1. Selection of the Sample Sampling is the part of the strategy of research. A good sample produce a result of approaching the

population and generalization would be effective. The adequacy of the sampling depend upon the knowledge of population as well as different methods used in drawing the sample. Sampling being the heart and soul of the researcher play is considered essential and advantageous as it saves an investigator's time, energy and money. The sample of the present investigation was drawn from the school of Jammu province. The total sample of teachers
