RECOMMENDED USES
As a water based intumescent top coat paint on wood, steel, concrete, etc. After application of National Intumescent Paint (W.B.) at recommended thickness, specific fire retardant and intumescent properties are achieved.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTION
SURFACE PREPARATION For metal: Sandblast the surface to min. Sa2.5 surface should be free of oil, grease, dust and loose particles. For mechanical cleaning surface should be sandblasted to min. St2. A sound prepared surface will lead to a better paint application. When used over old coating systems, the surface must be clean, dry and properly anchored. For wooden and concrete surfaces: For optimum service life, the surface should be completely free of contaminants that might impair performance and should be treated to ensure good and permanent adhesion of the paint system. For removing dust and loose particles, cleaning by air blasting is recommended.

SYSTEM
RECOMMENDED SYSTEM - Clean the surface of metal. - Sand blast the surface, if ferrous. - For non-ferrous surface, apply wash primer, then directly National Intumescent Paint. For ferrous surfaces: National Guard Zinc Phosphate Epoxy Primer : 1 coat
The dried film, reacts above 200C in a fire test situation, resulting into swelling to many times the original thickness to produce an insulating foamed carbonaceous char that reduces the rate of temperature increase, of the steel and hence prolongs its load bearing capacity. National Intumescent Paint (W.B.) can be applied at different film thickness for achieving fire protection up to 2 hours.
