Wysza Szkoa Handlowa (WSH) was established in 1997 as one of the first private schools in Wroclaw. Its mission is and has always been To educate for international business with links to practice. According to that motto, the main emphasis is put on foreign languages and lectures in English. The university is proud to be the best non-public business school in the Lower Silesia and the most international one in the region, as confirmed by recent educational rankings. It hosts the greatest number of international students every year, mainly because of the professional study program in English developed especially for Erasmus students. Today over 4000 students attend its courses every year, including over 100 Erasmus exchange students from all over Europe. Each semester our Polish students have the opportunity to study abroad selecting one of our partner universities in 20 countries (for example: Belgium, Cyprus, Croatia, Spain, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Germany or Hungary). Our university educates on five majors of Bachelor studies (Tourism and Recreation, Management, Internal Security, European Studies, Finance and Accounting) and on three majors of the Master degree studies (Tourism and Recreation, Management and European Studies) in full-time and part-time. We also offer 34 modern specialties such as International Tourism and International Business & Trade; a unique, top quality MBA program which is realized in 100% in English; furthermore 29 interesting majors in postgraduate studies, which are constantly improved and tailored to the changing market demand. Among the faculty teaching at our university we have distinctive English-speaking instructors, practitioners and trainers. Our researchers take part in training programs and study tours in the leading academic centres in the USA, such as American University in Washington. CEEMAN is an international management development association established in 1993 with the aim of accelerating the growth in quality of management development in central and eastern Europe. PART-TIME PROGRAM Classes are held every second weekend (on Saturdays and Sundays) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a lunch break. The nature of the program being part time allows students to remain fully employed while effectively and immediately applying newly acquired knowledge and skills into their work environment. PRACTICAL SKILLS Students do not only gain theoretical knowledge, but most of all acquire practical skills from the courses led by professionals, specialists and guest speakers wellknown business leaders. The students are very integrated with each other and they often speak of an exceptional atmosphere accompanying their time spent here. The relatively small size of the MBA group allows students to get to know closely all members of their class. THROUGH DIVERSITY TO SUCCESS Our students represent a wide range of cultural, social, educational and professional backgrounds and this diversity makes studying here really attractive. They are highlyexperienced representatives of middle and top management of different kinds of companies, which are in most cases big international companies from different business sectors, predominantly connected with IT and new technologies. Currently, 40% of our students are women and 40% are foreigners representing 5 different countries. Their average age is 35 and their mean period of professional experience exceeds 10 years. They are very ambitious and hard-working. Most of them have excellent leadership skills, but they are also good at teamwork and they support each other in all their projects working productively and harmoniously. These students are self-aware and goal-oriented they know exactly what they want to achieve, why they are here where they are heading. They are highly-motivated and success-driven, but they also understand the value of studying together and socializing together. On the other hand, they are very demanding but this fact creates the need of constant development and improvement on the side of the organizers and the faculty everything must be performed according to the highest standards. The WSH MBA reflects the reality of doing business in the global economy, and the universitys location is its major asset: Poland is at the heart of Europe and Wroclaw is a multicultural city, which combines beautiful culture with international dimension of business. The building has an excellent localisation it is situated not far from the city centre and close to public transport links. Our new upgraded facilities use state-of-the-art technology to make studying as efficient and comfortable as possible. The facilities take students needs into account resulting in one of the best business school objects in Wroclaw. You will learn in a modern and vibrant academic environment that will stimulate your scholastic curiosity. Having in mind that in todays information age computer and internet access are vital for all business people, we provide for our students and lecturers: innovative multimedia assembly hall for lecturing and conferencing (for 250 people) dedicated computer rooms equipped with multimedia appliances free WI-FI connection and Internet access throughout the campus modern library with the latest electronic databases. The building is accompanied by a spacious parking place for the use of WSH students and employees only and a huge green area for relaxation during the breaks. There is also a special student zone with a bar offering delicious meals, which can be served on the outside patio on warmer days. The whole venue is completely adjusted for physically disabled persons.

During the MBA program we will provide you with a foundation in all additional modules. Students are required to take courses which cover essential areas of business. The first years core curriculum offers you a solid foundation for a lifetime of learning. Working in a small study group of four to five students you will be exposed to a new way of thinking about management and business in order to develop your knowledge, your critical features and your practical skills. Each class brings different ideas, life experiences and cultural imperatives to the program, creating new challenges and elevating your management skills. The organization of the studies

DURATION OF THE THE MBA COURSE The MBA studies last 2 years (4 semesters). They are realized in extramural system classes are held on Saturdays and Sundays every second weekend (twice a month). Classes last from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. with two 15-minute breaks and one longer lunch break. MODULAR SYSTEM The MBA program has a modular structure. Each module constitutes a separated entirety. Additionally, modules are enriched with guest speakers lectures given by top specialists from Poland and abroad (so-called Meetings with Leaders). ACADEMIC YEAR The 1st academic year starts on 1st October and finishes on 30th June the following year. The 2nd academic year starts on 1st September and finishes on 30th June the following year. Each academic year has two semesters: winter semester and summer semester. The basic program comprises 3 semesters. The fourth semester, during which diploma seminars and individual consultations with promoters are held, is designated for writing a masters thesis. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT CLASSES The MBA program at the University of Business in Wroclaw comprises 540 hours of compulsory and open lectures, workshops and reviews. All classes are held in 100% in English. Lectures are based on practical solving of problems. They have an interactive form and simulate real business problems which managers may encounter in their workplace. Class activities are based on discussions, case studies, business simulations, multimedia workshops, virtual decision games and business projects. Students may also consult the faculty in a traditional or electronic way. Each subject has to be completed with a grade. Credits are received either for preparation of a case study or a written project, or on the basis of an oral or written examination. Students can get two diplomas: a masters degree in management and a diploma of postgraduate studies. In order to get a masters degree one must write and defend their masters thesis and in order to receive a postgraduate diploma one must pass an oral interdisciplinary examination. At the beginning of each academic year a weekend integration session is organized outside the university for both existing and new students.

All didactic materials, such as case studies, presentations, databases, exercises, business simulation games, specialist literature, reading materials are accessible only in English. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS MBA applicants should have at least two years of professional experience and a bachelor or master degree. Further requirements include a copy of the applicants Curriculum Vitae, two letters of recommendation, and a letter of motivation. English proficiency will also be required unless the applicant is a native of an English speaking country; otherwise there will be an English examination (GMAT) or the WSH Admission Test. The GMAT test. This is the Graduate Management Admission Test, based in the United States and sponsored by the Graduate Management Admission Council. It measures a candidates academic potential for advanced management studies and is a standard and uniform predictor of graduatelevel performance for the many candidates applying from all over the world, from a wide range of undergraduate colleges and universities. The interview. The Recruitment and Admissions Office will contact all the candidates in order to obtain more information if necessary before the invitation for an interview (which is the final step of the recruitment program). The interview is held in English, in front of the Recruitment Committee and relates to the applicants educational and professional background, his/her motivation to pursue the MBA studies and particular expectations for this program.
