The first meet of volunteers for Seva Fair 2009 was held at Bal Shikhan Mandir school premises

on 6th Sep-09. Almost 60 volunteers from different companies and students from colleges attended the meet. The objective of the meet was to communicate the volunteers the purpose of Seva Fair and how it is done: 1. Seva Fair is to provide a platform for NGOs to showcase their work and needs to the corporate world and other socially aware people. Seva Fair activity has proven a catalyst in accelerating corporate world involvement in grass root level social projects. 2. What are different volunteering opportunities 3. How and what a volunteer can contribute SS conducts a pre-Diwali 'Seva Fair' in corporate campuses. In this Seva Fair, handicrafts and Diwali items made by deprived sections of society are kept for sale. A small exhibition of social projects by NGOs organised and promoted by Seva Sahayog is also part of this fair.

This year the fair will be conducted between 5th Oct-09 to 16th Oct-09. Seva Sahayog is aiming to reach 50 different companies this year
The Seva Fair activities are broadly categorised in following heads. The categories and the volunteering opportunities in each area were explained to the volunteers Seva Fair promotional activities: You be coordinator in your company. Seek necessary permission from HR / CSR, security to conduct the fair. Arrange necessary infrastructure. Be coordinator in your housing society and arrange fair there Volunteer your time in communicating with HR/CSR persons of different companies. Suggest and implement creative ideas in NGO and their product sales promotion Volunteer in designing the promotional material Logistics Material packaging and kitting as per Fair schedule. Material dispatch from central stores to respective companies as per schedule. Arrange for necessary transportation, arrange for storage and material security Procurement Coordinate with NGO / SHG in purchasing material, follow-up Maintain quality of material Volunteer engagement Maintain database of volunteers for this event Update volunteers about events Plan the available volunteers as per activity requirement Ensure volunteers are available in different activities Accounts Maintenance Follow up / Celebration event If you could not manage to attend this orientation and still want to volunteer.
