What, exactly, attracts summer visitors to Britain?

Jill Eckersley asked six tour guides to sum up their customers reactions to the natives. Here is what they think of us... ___________________ Well, Scandinavians expect the British to be eccentric. They dont mind having to wait an hour for a bus, because they think its so typically British. But the first impression they get is a bad one theres so much litter around. Swedish holiday brochures even caution clients not to expect the same standards of cleanliness in English hotels. They also find London Transport ludicrously expensive. ___________________ Curiously enough, the French are impressed by English food. Its probably because theyre expecting it to be terrible. Germans are pleasantly surprised to find that England looks less poverty-stricken than they expect, and often ask how we can afford to keep up the monarchy and all our ceremonial tradition. They admire Britain and the British, though they think were old-fashioned. The Japanese seem to notice the way so many clocks on public buildings show different times. They cant understand why no one bothers to correct them. ___________________ The first thing the Italians notice when they come to Britain, apart from the weather, is the number of houses. Most urban Italians live in flats, even in the suburbs. They think the British must be very honest too, as so many houses have glass front doors. They cant believe the London newspaper-sellers who leave a pile of papers and a tin for customers money. They adore the countryside and notice all kind of things like how few children seem to play in the streets, how rarely British drivers sound their horns, and how oddly English women dress! Jellje meg X-jellel, igaznak vagy hamisnak tartja-e az albbi lltsokat! TRUE 1. A skandinvok szerint az angolok klncek. 2. Angliban rkig kell vrni egy buszra. 3. Az angol utck igen tisztk. 4.
