COLLEGE ASSIGNMENT: CONEL ENERGY EFFICIENCY RECOMMENDATIONS

Student: John Bofarull Guix 396047 October 6th 2011

Where is CONEL on the above graph? 1. INTRODUCTION

The aim of this assignment is to find ways to improve CONEL buildings energy efficiency. I have had to spend a considerable amount of time searching among a diverse range of alternative energy sources as well as regulations that may concern CONEL. Let's start with the broad picture; The UK government is committing to improve energy sources and reduce CO2 emissions. This is a strategic decision. In 2008 World power consumption was 15TW and Equivalent petrol consumption was 11294.9 10 Tn of which EU 1723.2 10 Tn. On same year World Electricity consumption was 2.306TW (20201.8TWh) of which EU 384GWh (3371.7TWh), 16.6%. We (UK and EU) consume a lot of energy but we do not have full control of the sources that currently power our economies. Economical power, Science power, Military power and energy consumption are equivalent and proportional terms. But electrical energy has storage supports far more limited than money, weapons and knowledge. Please follow me through the following abridged search (point 2) that is going to help us analyse (point 3) and produce recommendations to CONEL (point 4) to come to Conclusions (point 5) regarding what are the best moves, if any necessary move at all, for CONEL to improve buildings efficiency within the context of a public institution committing to related UK government objectives.
