Five lucky amateur golfers from New Jersey have won the opportunity to play a golf match of a lifetime against LPGA Star Morgan Pressel in the Garden State Pro Tour Challenge, Oct. 2, 2012, beginning at 2 p.m. at the venerable Shackamaxon Country Club in Scotch Plains. The winners in five categories (Men's Gross, Men's Senior Gross, Men's Net, Ladies Gross, Ladies Net) were determined in the event's qualifier play-off on Sept. 24 at Shackamaxon.

(Sept. 27, 2012)Five lucky amateur golfers from New Jersey have won the opportunity to play a golf match of a lifetime against LPGA Star Morgan Pressel in the Garden State Pro Tour Challenge, Oct. 2, 2012, beginning at 2 p.m. at the venerable Shackamaxon Country Club in Scotch Plains. The winners in Iive categories (Men`s Gross, Men`s Senior Gross, Men`s Net, Ladies Gross, Ladies Net) were determined in the event`s qualifier play-off on Sept. 24 at Shackamaxon. The winners and (scores) are as follows: Men`s Gross: Chester Patterson (67) Irom Fiddler`s Elbow CC Men`s Senior Gross: Jerry Horton (68) Irom Forsgate CC Men`s Net: Brian Clark (76) Irom Forsgate CC Women`s Gross: Peggy Ference (83) Irom Cherry Valley CC Women`s Net: Beth Lankler (79) Irom Shackamaxon CC
In addition to the five amateurs, a First Tee scholarship recipient will also compete against Pressel. The First Tee is an internationally respected youth organization that promotes life skills and leadership through the game of golf.
Each qualifier will play a three-hole match (match play) against Pressel on Shackamaxon`s A.W. Tillinghast designed golf course. Gallery Tickets to watch The Garden State Pro Tour Challenge are only $10 and may be reserved by calling (908) 233-1300 ext. 230. Tickets will also be available on- site at the club on Oct. 2 nd . The event will benefit the New Jersey Golf Foundation, the official charity of the New Jersey section oI the PGA. The organization`s mission is to grow the game oI golI in New Jersey and to provide access to the game specifically to youth throughout the Garden State. Morgan Pressel is one oI the LPGA`s brightest stars. In 2011, she recorded 11, top-10 finishes and has over four million in career earnings. She is undefeated in U.S. Solheim Cup competitions and was the runner-up in the 2005 U.S. Women's Open (as an amateur). Currently residing in Boca Raton, Fla., she has been an active fundraiser for cancer, a disease that took her mother at a young age. She is the niece of former tennis star Aaron Krickstein.
